Poll Question: Compensation Poll
Next week again.. I think Kawasaki should compensate their customers that had deposits on bikes or prepaid months ago and that were told by their dealer that the bikes would be here back in February. I think the dealer should have to verify that the potential customer did have a deposit down and in fact they were told the bikes would be here back in February. The compensation should be realistic.. Do you feel as I do?? State what compensation you would like to see.....

I think February was very optimistic to begin with. When I bought my 04 R1 I think it was the very end of March - begining of April before I saw it. Waiting until June would be a bit much, but I think their biggest foul was to even suggest Feb to begin with.

A free 48 mo Extended Waranty would be nice. Might cover what ever they might have half assed in a hurry fixed at the warehouse.

You can fuck my sister till your palywaker falls off, it's me thats gettin fucked. I think 2 months late justifies alittle pissing and moaning. And we'll get to do it all over again (pissing and moanig) next year when the new busa comes out and kicks our ass. Again.
Oh yea back to the survey. $500.00 to accesories of your flavor sounds good.
My loal dealer has sold 4 busas already this year. If the 14s had been sitting there like they said I bet the busas would still be sitting there. Hell I'm about ready to buy one.

Yeah like others here have said already. Some type of comp would be in order especially if the bike don't show by 01 MAY. An extended warranty or equal value worth of free gear would be ideal for me. They can do $400-$500 per person easily, but I don't see it happening.

I should have the pole so that the people in bed with Kawasaki couldn't vote. But you know they would anyway.. Including you Fish , Swift and all the other in bed Bikeland crew.... So you can erase all the no's.....
You would be pissed to if you had a riding vacation planned and prepaid for that you had to missed because your dealer and the Kaw rep said y u would definetly have a bike by April 19th.. This was Early Feburuary..
Extended warranty would be nice or some free accesories or some oil filters etc....

BAHAHAHAHAHA! Hell, I didn't even stay on the same floor as fish and swft when we rode the 10R in '04. How could I be "in bed" with them or KMC? And where the hell was KMC when swft and I got lost in the pouring rain on our way back? I had to call my daughter in AR, so she could go to Mapquest and tell me and swft how to get back!
Anybody that would plan a specific date for a vacation around the delivery of a new model bike, of any brand, is... is... oh, a PC word to describe it escapes me.
Anybody that would take the word of a dealer, when he gives a specific date, might want to look for a new dealer. For a dealer to give a "absolute" deliver date is pure BS and impossible to give, even if he has a manifest in his hand from the hub.
I got a big chuckle in looking up so old threads concerning the delivery date of the '04 10R. To show how much I "in bed" with KMC, check this thread out in Jan. '04 on when I thought my "baby" would arrive...
http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=19&TID=9684
Now check the date on this thread...
http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=19&TID=10897
So much for having "connections". Even after riding one in CA and having a dealer that has be a "Gold Ichiban" winner for countless years... means nothing. I saw the delivery info sheets sent to my dealer from KMC. I saw the ETA sheets from the distribution center. It was brutally painful to read about others getting their 10Rs and knowing that mine was sitting in some warehouse in Dallas and wouldn't be here until they had a full trailer and it would be heading in my direction.
It all means very little until the bike is in the showroom. My 12R showed up before my dealer even got a notice from the distribution center that it had been shipped (the notice showed up later that day), but I won't even go into the "horrors and disappointment" I experienced waiting for that bike.
My 10R was first rumored to be in my garage in January... then February and was actually delivered.... well, check the thread above. Did I expect so sort of compensation for being mislead? No, I didn't. Not from KHI. Not from KMC and not from my dealer.
All one has to do is look back to how the original delivery dates of the 12R or 10R and it would give you an idea on what you could expect. You could do the same with the R1 or even the '99 Hayabusa. To expect it to be any different with the 14 would be folly.
