Yeah, I thought that too. I'm sure we'll see variations on stock peak power as more dyno runs get posted...

Seems like we've heard from someone else "in the know" that the 14 did 169 rwhp on their dyno, now Brock's did 164.

Either way, I'm quite happy. And for those who want more - simply add a good pipe!

it won't make as much power on the dyno as it will going down the road. No Ram Air !!!
Pressurising the air box greatly increases the HP.

Well, I did think the #'s are little low, and i expected that, cause nobody was displaying it.

To all who attempted to denounce my requests.

Yep Brock is a good guy. You would think with all these guys that had bikes on the dyno early, at least one of them would have a scanner and an internet connection to post a graph. I was annoyed by it, but it's all right since I'm more interested in the 1/4 ET and MPH anyway.

It looks like a good tuned 12r chart. Doesnt it?

Maybe this is why no one was supposed to post a chart untill the bikes were on the trucks to the dealers.?

Definitely a tight dyno...maybe "realistic" is a better word.I can't believe people on the site here are going to let a dyno play into the decision on whether or not to buy the ZX14.Busa's are not dyno stars but they are pretty good 1/4 mile bikes..i'm sure we can all agree on that.I have been around a few dynos and enough engines to understand that an engine that runs the best #'s on the dyno doesnt necessarily get the vehicle down the track faster than an engine that may not have shined in a similar test.Dynos are a great tuning aid but I don't take them as a Bible.Ditto that for flow benches.

...some of you are worried that the dyno hp/tq numbers 'are low' yet the pros post incredible et/mph numbers on essentially stock bikes at the intro....and you guys are worried and dissapointed?.....hmmmmmm.....

Yeah, what Brooklyn,NY ZX12 said

The 14 will have 15 more HorsePower over the 12, both bikes with the same mods!!!...I believe that the dyno #s for both a stock 12 and 14 will just tell you how much one is faster than the other!!!

What Kawasaki did to the 14 is much more than 15 hp on the DragStrip!!!...Kawasaki re-arranged the engine and suspension which puts the weight in the right places so we can get to use alot more of the power to the ground which makes the 14 fly!!!...In this case the 14 is set up from the factory much better than the Busa, meaning the 14 will always beat the Busa with the right rider!!!...Even if the 14 has only 10hp above the 12, the 14 will be much faster because of the way Kawasaki set it up!!! Less is More

The best thing any of us can do is learn how to ride and get all you can out of your bike, if you can then you will be one fast MoFo!!!...Why would you have a 170hp bike and not be able to ride the crap out of it, then add 15 hp of mods then try to ride the crap out of that???...Now you made it even harder for yourself to go the #'s you want Then people blame the mechanic or the bike saying it's not right...

Just my

How about those people who just want the ZX-14 for
A) bragging rights - yes - it's a motorcycle - why else would you buy one
B) very good aerodynamics and torque engine => good fuel economics
while travelling German express ways towards Alps
C) Touring capability, a big bike carries a lot of load
D) separate break pads aid when you go downhill in Alps
no overheating - also the big engine can take some revs while slowing down
E) Excellent clutch is handy when you follow a caravan uphill the Alps
F) Torque, not just clutch if you
G) New technology (not from last millenia) incyding everything - not just ABS
H) Have fun with a bike that you like

If we raced dyno #'s the ZX12R spanked a Busa all the time...12R's always dynoed better than a Busa (stock for stock) but that edge on the dyno did not always equate to superiority on the dragstrip! If everyone had the dyno fetish nobody would have bought a Busa and everyone would have bought 12r's..using the dyno #'s as the absolute barometer to the bikes performance or lack thereof.
