Not so good!

My dealer just called Kawasaki and they told him Mid to end of April. Well I'm sick of being lied to time and time again, no it's down to principle and If it's not here by the end of the first week in April ,like they said 3 weeks ago, hell with em.

Kawasaki said Feb............ No bikes
Kawasaki said March........ No bikes
Kawasaki said Ist week in April and now their saying mid to end of April. What then do they say mid of May?

I've had enough of getting jerked around I don't care if it's got 250 RWHP and made totally of titanium. Yes I'm frusterated but what do you expect. A**holes

By the time the 14 comes out we'll prolly have a good idea how the competition is doing.

Or...

Just say screw it and keep what we got.

In my opinion, that's an excessively strong statement.

Has it ever happened to you that someone in your chain of command, or your supplier, or what have you, told you something that you passed onto your customer - something that turned out to be, well, inaccurate? If so, does this make you a liar??

I would suggest that it doesn't, that in fact it makes you guilty of nothing more than being a molecule of grease in the cogs of life.

Does anyone honestly believe that Kawasaki is going out of thier way to dely the '14? What would Kawasaki's reasoning be behind such a move? Trust me, after all the R & D dollars spent on developing this bike, they want to get one into each of our hot little hands as quickly as they can.

I am sure they are very aware they will begin to lose some sales particulary in the climates where riding season is year long or now just starting.

It's not a matter of Kawasaki 'lying'...............it's any number of last minute glitches, not even bike related that have caused the delays.

Life surprisingly is still pretty good even with out a '14 in the garage!

Get it guys???...The ZX12 got to the dealers in May of 2000...So, I guess the 14 will be released in May also!!!

My dealer has always said the first part of April. I talked to him today and he said the bikes will be in the showroom in about 10 days.
In other words the first part of April.

(emphasis added)

Reynolds - Kawasaki is a large corporation. You are an individual.

Your comparison only holds water if the person who told you that bikes would be available at a certain time is the very fellow who makes and ships them.

More realistically (read, in the real world) the fellow who told you when the bikes should be available is most likely the two dozenth monkey down the line...

You mean when my dealer who I've bought 30+ motorcycles from in the last 20 years who knows his job very well and has been a Kawasaki dealer as long as I can remember calls to check on a bike for me and he gets a monkey on the other end. If this is what Kawasaki has representing themselfs then why in the hell should any of us be buying a bike from them. I know why, so they can make monkeys out of us, and in my opinion are doing a pretty good job of that now. Now if I was a corporation you think Kawasaki would have told me the truth, I don't think so. Hey man I know of 3 times they lied to my dealer, and I bet it wasn't a monkey. That's like a sargent lying to his troops and that shit don't fly. Your theory holds about as much water as a minnow bucket.

Reynolds...

Firstly, it wasn't put forth as a 'theory' - it's a clarification.

Secondly, as a clarification, it's perfectly sound; perhaps even to something with the intellect of a minnow, I can't say; I'll bow to your expertise in that area.

Thirdly, the point remains.

I seriously doubt that anyone has lied to you about the date of availability of the ZX14. To suggest that Kawasaki has lied to you is more than a bit egocentric -- don't take this wrong but you're really not that important. If your dealer has been given the wrong information he can hardly be considered a liar for passing it on. The person from whom your dealer got the information most likely received the information from some other source, so they can hardly be guilty of lying, and so on, and so on, and so on.

Just so we're clear, a lie is an assertion of something known or believed by the speaker to be untrue with the intent to deceive.

In other words, in order for you to make the assertion that everyone is lying to you, you would have to have certain knowledge that they (i) have the actual and correct information and (ii) are intentionally telling you something other than the actual and correct information in a direct attempt to deceive you.

In order for the latter to be shown you would first have to demonstrate the actual fact of the former.

Additionally, if you COULD demonstrate the actual fact of the former, YOU would have the actual and correct information and, as a consequence, your complaint would collapse.

I think we're getting conflicting information from various people in Kawasaki who don't actually know anything. So they're guessing and just causing confusion.
Now would be a really good time for Kawasaki to produce a press release giving us the low down on delivery dates or whatever else is going on.
How about it Big K ? Your customers want to hear from you.

Kawi launched a bunch of all-new bikes for 2006,
such as Ninja650R, ZX10R, Vulcan900, and even W400 for Japanese market.
plus I heared they are all selling well. I guess Kawi factory is really busy recently.
So I won't be surprised if ZX14 initial production has delayed or limited.

The bottom line with all of these "romors" of delivery dates, freight problems, customs hold-ups, etc, is that NONE OF IT MATTERS!!! We will have ZX-14's when they get to our dealers, no sooner...

All of these stories that we keep hearing are simply regular folks (us) repeating what someone else told us. Sure, we want to believe them and we would like to believe that what they are telling us is fact, but we are making wild assumptions when we do.

I am quite confident that there are people at KMC who know where the 14's are, and EXACTLY when EACH one will arrive at our dealership. They know what color each bike is, what train/truck they are on, which warehouse they are sitting in, etc. The simple fact is that the people who *REALLY* know what is going on aren't talking. So we hear news from our "two dozenth monkey" (thanks aughtsix) and we would like to believe it's true...

And so we wait...

Kind of shows you how far we have come for someone to be genuinely pissed that a product is a month or two off. 60 days on a shipment of a first run sportbike? Gimme a break! There are sooooo many things that could result in delay. You want it now or you want it right?
You could stand on your head for 60 days.
