More ZX-14 Dyno #s
This is from a factory supported dragracer in Toronto, taken from cherrypickerracing.com.
Wow. I just got back from testing our new ZX14 at Hindles facility in Port Perry and holy *@#$. We just pcked up our new bike from Kawasaki and took it directly to Hindle for pre-fittment of the sidewinder exhaust. The first step was to test the bike bone stock for a base line and production stopped at the plant as the numbers spread through the shop. Kawasaki has provided us at Cycle Max with the 14 for the Heads Up, Street E.T. class. Hindle Exhaust Systems is a major sponsor of this class and for us as well. This was the highest Powered stock bike I have ever tested and once the full pipe is developed look out Busa's. Lang had Dave at Hindle's spend the day breaking the bike in. I arrived at 3pm today, changed the oil and checked it over. Then we put it back on the Dyno and gave it it's first pull. 169 H.P. and 105 ft lb of torque. Stock pipes were then replaced with the prototype slip ons and with another pull, 173.5 H.P. and 107 ft lb of torque. I can't wait for the full sidewinder numbers.
Hope I can hang on once the thing gets fully built and sprayed.
Jeff Bloor - Cycle Max.

I may have become a victim of the fantasy numbers that have been tossed around on this forum over the past couple of months, but 169 RWHP doesn't get me very excited. Litre bikes with good exhaust systems and a sharp tune approach this figure, and weigh at least 80 pounds less. The bar may have been raised, but we'll need a micrometer to measure the height increase.

There's a fair guys that have their nose glued to the horsepower number. Never mind that, the torque is a great number.

You can't make a dyno comparison and call the # low unless they had a new zx10 or gsxr 1000 on the dyno before and after to verify the #s. Being that 169 hp was the highest they've ever seen on a stock bike AND they build race bikes...my guess is they have one of the average or lower reading dynos.
That torque # is silly huge for a stock bike and should impress everybody.

Those are the exact same numbers I estimated based on kawasaki's published crank hosepwer numbers... 190 ps is 169RWHP.. the torque number is impressive

horsepower sounds about right to me considering what real world ZX-10R and ZX-12Rs pull stock out of the crate.

It's Hindle's in-house Dynojet. They use it for their own R&D and don't publish the #s. If you speak to Lang or Lee personally they can give you comparative figures. Jeff Bloor has a service shop (Cycle Max) and has worked for factory roadrace teams, so if he's excited there must be a good reason.

The (relatively) high torque number and the (relatively) low horsepower number lead me to believe that Tren may be correct that the engine is indeed choked out at the top end.
Since the slip-ons didn't help much (read waste of money) my guess is the throttle bodies, cam timing or ecm programming.
But who really cares since it's not even available for sale yet...

Pretty ho-hum dyno results in my book.
Maybe the dyno is gonna get a "tune-up" right before the Side-winder test?

Cam duration/overlap probably reduced for emissions i would guess, and the throttle bodies were reduced to match the flow of the cams.
We'll all see later enough!
I've PM a big guy several times now who definately has dynosheets.
No response at all.
Its funny cause I pm him when he is online, and suddenly he goes offline!
Well, i guess I will buy my parts from someone who has the time of day , and isn't on the bankroll.

I imagine its strangled with the stock exhaust just like the 12R is. It will pick up quite a bit with good exhaust and mapping..

Ho-hum ? Don't think so. The harley guys get a v-rod with 108 rwhp and they brag and brag , tell everybody it will dust a metric. We get a bike thats 75# lighter ,175 rwhp and it's ho-hum. WTF But some people would bitch if you hung em with a gold rope. I think there pretty damn good numbers and I for one ticked shitless to get a stock bike with that much stock hp and torque. Pipe , tune , go to track run 9's, and low 9s , get on it and take off across the country ho hum, give me a break.
