BMW K1200S
Going to take a long test ride tomorrow on the BMW. It has heated grips, ABS, active suspension. It looks alright and well got to have a bike you know and now. Anyone ride one? whats your impressions?

It's a great bike especially with electronic suspension control. I like the bike.

I tried to ride that bike when it was released, but my local dealer had pre-sold his allotment, so no test rides were available. It looks like a sweet ride, VERY attractive as a long-legged tourer. I would look at it more seriously if it wasn't so damn expensive with ABS and active suspension!

I really like the machine but the ONLY way I'd consider one is almost totally stripped - no ABS because of that damnable servo, no ESA because of shock replacement cost and the gimmic-ness of it. Just the basic bike (bumblebee for me please) plus heated grips and a center stand. That's it.

I haven't got a change to ride it with the lower seat.
The higher seat is too high for me.
Also the local dealer is not customer friendly.
Totally four of them insulted me or my bride last summer,
but we got BMW summer pants with detachable legs from them anyway.
This summer a new dealer appeared in the neighbourhood
and I think I'll take another test drive.
But the decision is firm that the ZZR1400 is better
R 1200 RT might be the best BMW with 3,6 litres/100km and 27 litres tank
That is 65 MPG and 7.13 US gal, a 470 mile range

I rode one last spring at the BMW demo days. It is a very sweet engine. It rev's quickly and sounds down right mean as you approach red line. I had one chance during the demo to run it hard through the gears. Not Hayabusa strong, but was pretty impressive all the same. The front end felt odd as their is no dive when you hit the brakes. The front end feels a little on the vague side...........really feels very different than a telescopic front end. The shaft drive is pretty much invisable...........no rear end 'jacking' when you are on or off the gas. The fairing gives really good wind protection at highway speeds with very little buffeting. The heated hand grips are great, should be standard on every bike regardless of brand in Canada. When your hands are warm, the rest of you stays warm!
It's a great bike, but at almost $22,000 CDN, it is more money than I want to spend on a bike........................but they are sitting in a show room near you.......which you can't say for the '14 yet!

Thanks. Nasty weather here today hopefully take one for a ride on Tuesday.. I can get KS for around 15500 for ABS, heated grips, and the electronic suspension.. I'm a typical American thou ( horespower first ). If it is weaker than the busa I don't think I will like it. But if it handles good and does the twisties better I might be interested. And you said that right at least you can get one.... Another good factor is that not every punk ass kid on the block can afford one...
