Rumors were that the 2000 ZX-12R would be in the showrooms in February of that year. The the "stink" about the "300 KPH" thing and there was suddenly a six week delay.
Had already traded in and they had sold my '97 7R several months earlier. Every Saturday afternoon, I'd stop by my dealer and pour over his "release sheets", just hoping to see my 12R on there somewhere. I was without a bike while the weather had already turned nice. The 12R finally arrived in March, two weeks earlier than planned (after the "delay").
Ever since then, I have NEVER put stock into what ANYONE, be it magazines, dealers or people supposedly "in the know" say about delivery dates. I don't even trust the release and ship info the dealer gets from KMC or the distribution center.
Just because KMC says they are released to the distribution centers doesn't mean that the bike is on its way to my dealer. It just means that they are headed to the centers. The bikes won't be leaving the centers to the dealers until both the trailer is full AND the have a truck heading in the direction of my dealer.
The nice thing was that when I ordered my 10R, I did care when it came. Like my 12R, it was to be one of, if not THE first one in the state. I knew that it would get to my dealer when ever it got there and not one second sooner. All the pestering I did to my dealer on the 12R didn't make it arrive any sooner then just not worrying about it on my 10R.
Thus, I just do sweat it anymore.

No all indications point to early Apr. for first dealer deliverys. My local dealer Kellys. Kaw. says same thing and a very old and long time friend who works at KMC. Irvine Ca. says mine will be ready Apr. 1 (note date) I will kick said old  if he is mess'n with me.

 I guess some dealers want to see you continually coming in to visit them 
If I were a dealer I would tell you an estimate, give you a card and take your cel phone # and call you when they come in...

Well I guess the bike will never show up but I am still pleased with Kawasaki! The 10R is kicking ass!

Right now ? no I'm not pleased, I'm really annoyed.
Heard last night that the UK bikes were not available now until late May. The way it's going they'll be announcing the next Hayabusa before I get the Kwak !!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps I'll have to import an American model, at least I could have it in black then.

Screw Kawasaki!
They said "Mid Feb" in all the mags (Motorcyclist, Cycle World, Rider, etc).
Kawis's compitition is already talking about 07 bikes and Kawi still cant deliver thier 06 bikes.
Screw them, I'm done.
Keep your bikes Kawasaki.
I am sure they don't care but its the only thing I can do.
I canceled my order, got my deposite back.
Bought a 06 ElectraGlide for the wife and me. Keeping my ZX12.
BTW: SCREW YOU KAWASAKI!!!!!!!

After reading the dragbike article, I'm actually very pleased with Kawasaki. They took a guy who couldn't put three words together without one of them being 'hayabusa' and got a very enthusiastic review out of him. He left it no doubt that he'd be getting his hands on one. That had to be one of Kaw's goals, to pull bus owners over based on both reviews and outright performance numbers. So they seemed to have focused on it, and accomplished their goal. While the bike doesn't appeal to me based on this year's lack of ABS, I hold out hope for mid or next year intro of ABS.

Glad to see someone stand up and speak their mind.. I haven't fallen as of yet but if its not soon I will running my mouth all over the internet as well and more of it...

Hell we need to refresh this poll.. And start a new one.. There are several people that has got their money back and told Kaw to go to hell... I know of 2 people thats not on the board and thats just in my little hole of the world and several on here as well.

....its another beautiful pleasant blue-sky-with-fluffy-clouds day in SoCal....and no ZX-14s in sight...only the black one on my screen's background setting...I CAN wait....especially if it comes out with ABS....
...each time I stare at the black ZX-14 on my screen I see room for improving its asthetics...shorten the strakes on the side panels by removing the trailing half and painting the panel s in body-color...raise the angle of the exhaust mufflers to get it more in line
(parallel?) with the angle line on the bottom of the tail section...reduce the height at the very end of the tail section where the tail light is, bring it more to a sleek point instead of its present 'blunt' look, flush the front/rear turn sigs...remove the mudflap assembly....and put me on one wearing a new 2-piece full leather speed-humped suit, my black SIDIs, my black Ti-knuckled gloves, and new black Shoei helmet as I enjoy riding in this weather whilst the resta'yaz moan and groan about ZX-14 availabilty and your goomy freezing skies and salt-infested icy roads!!!!
