Digital gauges are only useful if you aren't accelerating or decelerating quickly. Sure, if you're crusing along at a given speed, it's easier to see how fast you're going, but if you are on it hard running through the gears, or in the brakes, analog is a better bet...

I've got a cool little cycle computer that I was originally going to install on the ZZR that might go on this bike if there's room for it. I wouldn't mind the additional accuracy and top-speed memory that it offers... plus I'd get another couple of trip odometers to go along with the factory pair...

I had this digital readout on my Concours.

Just please don't give us the 10's speedo/tach.

A single oval, or round display face. Very light weight. A thumb press on the left switch will toggle a full Tach face only, or toggle the left switch again, you get the Speedo face only. Toggle a third time, both Tach/Speedo on display.
On the right switch, the Speedo/Tach face goes away, now there is a big display of mileage. Toggle again to a single view fuel gauge. Toggle again, and trip shows, oil temp/psi, etc. Add two displays at a time? Read your info, and it defaults back to the Speedo in 10 seconds. Optional default Tach/Speedo selection mode if you rather look at the Tach, rather than the Speedo.
Less cluttered face. Lighter parts for the front end, and bike OL. Optional modes where you can ladder which gauge you rather see when first toggled on the right switch?
The display would read a single display only (if programmed). No hunting the screen for small icons. Oil light comes on if engine problems. Fuel reserve light blinks, and shows remaining fuel on display. Lot's of combinations to play with.

....some things are 'just right''...digital speed read-out and analog needle tach are one of them, imho...on separate 'guages'....
