KHI might be afraid of early Busa-1400 ??
The longer the wait for us - the longer the Zuk has to wait, too!

Is it? OK - what if I just buy a Suzuki GSX-1400
and get a thinner gasket to increase the compression ratio to 11,5
will I get more low-end torque?
(also I have to use super or Euro 98 octane)
Anything else to do to rise the low-end torque than just c-ratio?

Diesel engines have massive low end torque because of the extremely high compression ratios they run.
Cubic displacement in a gas engine and high compression equals more torque. You can only get so much torque from a certain displacement and compression ratio. If you want big gains you need to go to forced induction - ie turbo or supercharger.
If you want lots of low end torque, get one of these.............a Boss Hoss with a 502 Cubic Inch V-8

Not that much different from the Busa's
For action you need 3000 rpm

How much time you plan on spending below 3,000 rpms?? Don't know about you guys, but the only time I hang out around that range is when i'm idling in traffic. By the time you take off from a stop and get the clutch fully engaged, you're well over 3,000 rpms.

I'm sick of all this bullshit as well. Why all this secretly shit?
Can't someone tell the facts?
I haven't heard the official rwhp on stock production unit?
Can't they tell us the hard facts and where and what to do to get the most hp?
Like to hear the facts from Kawasaki and not others. Like what type of rider or demographics where they trying to target? What was the reason it wasn't a R model and why did the European market was a ZZR model etc.. Whats so hard about the hard facts.......... WTFH

I hear ya bro...all the jerking around with the secretive bullshit is just ridiculous. Give us a real world fucking dyno graph already, Kawasaki.

I'm beginning to like the 14 now that I can see some decent pics of it.

Still ain't diggin' those Testerossa filler panels though. They look cheap and added on to me. Is the motor not as pretty as the 12's and Kaw wants to hide it completely from view?

they are not trying to hide it... They are trying to keep the heat away!!! as everyone knows the 12 would get hot has hell just driving downtown.... it was nuts.. this bike does not radiate the heat nor does it overheat at all in stop and go traffic... this is one of the great things about this bike....

Question;

Does the Dragstrip #'s tell the story of the power output of the new 14?!

The midtrack and trap speed #'s do not lie here Gentlemen!

The 14 is making more than enough peak power at 9,500 to KILL a busa.

Just look at the trap speeds of the PIPED 14, F@%K!! Thats indicating well over 190 rear wheel horspower! Plus it will extend that power well into the 10,500 rpm range!

Help me out here fellas:

Madmike on stock bike ran 10.31@137ish and (weighs 240 without gear)
What were the times of the piped zx14 and who was riding it? I saw the better numbers posted by Ricky and Ryan but i didn't catch if they were bone stocked or muzzy piped.
I also thought the track in Vegas is around 2700-2800 ft in elevation.

I'm glad they had a hoss(Madmike) doing some drag testing. I'm assuming the track was well prepped. So the rest of us normal type riders can get a real grasp on what a stock zx14 is capable of.

I think you fellas were a little hard on Trenace. He's a wealth of information. I work around guys like Trenace all the time. I work at the largest computer chip manufacturing facility in the world. I'll admit i had a hard time fully understanding Trenaces posts but the jest of it seems to be of sound argument.... I'm semi edumakated and have a masters degree in business whatever that really means, so cut the guy some slack if you please.

But back to us mere regular Joes. I like Brock's comments to Madmike about him running around 3 tenths better on the new zx14. I'll throw in my dimes worth of analysis: Here in New Mexico, stock hayabusa dyno 148-153 hp on dynojet 250's. Zx12's tend to dyno
a little higher in 151-155 range. Since the new zx14 is averaging 3-4 mph better than a stock Busa ,its safe to conclude the bike should make approximately 13-17 hp more than a Bus. In the end it looks like the new zx14 will make around 165-170 hp (stock)on an average reading dynojet.

I wasn't so pumped on the zx14 at first because i own a mid 190 hp 1290 zx12r. I figured by the looks of the zx14 with duel pipes and a larger displacement engine(stiffer heavier frame), the bike would not handle has good as my old 12. (Until the actual weights are published i would guess the new 14 to will weigh aproximately 20 lb's more.) But it appears so far the zx14 just might be the better handleing machine. We all know its more powerful and has better ergos for the targeted audience kawasaki went for (late 30's to early 50's gents) but, if it handles better then i'll be buying one for sure! Hurry up fellas on your updated report. I'm about ready to dump a ton of money into upgrading the turbo in my car but........

____________
9.78@155.13 mph 1.71 60 ft @ a near mile high dragstrip

2006 ZX14 gone
2006 ZX10r (Wifes street bike)
2004 zx10r (her race bike)
2002 ZX12 (still kicking a--)
2007 gsxr 1k (race bike)
