Junior S I ride on twisty canyons roads, knees down and sliding out of the corners, popping the front wheel under power then late braking lifting the rear wheel for the next corner. I also like to run flat out but the price of gas here makes that expensive like $4.80 a gallon. Traffic fines suck too like $1500 for over 45 over the limit and 3 months off the road.

I dont understand the point of it. Why take a sportbike, designed to do most all things well and morph it into a specialty item, which can only do one thing?
If drag racing is your game, which is cool, why not get a ZX14 engine(or whatever turns your crank) and put it in a true drag chassis. Would not the end result be an even quicker, faster bike? All those dollars wasted on the Sport chassis, brakes, etc. could be put toward the more efficient chassis, and the end result be more suitable for the given endeavor.

Ozzy that well may happen as well. However people dragrace streetbikes and the ZX14 IS a streetbike. You dont to understand it, just accept it as the way things are. Its always been that way, and always will...

did you guys realize that the "Drag Chassis Bike" is slowly dying out. the Street Drag Bike is here to stay!! it is about taking a machine with "no wheelie bars" and going as fast as you can. if you want a canyon carver, WTF are you even thinking about getting this bike for? if you want a bike to travel, dragrace, top end, basiclly go WFO then get this... you dont have to stretch it out, but if your into dragracing that is what your going to do! well except for the few insane that will leave it stock wheelbase, and throw a dry shot on an really shoot some speed in their veins... LOL..

Geeezzz, a lot of "sportbikes" (600's and 1k's) are made into dedicated trackbikes (no lights, etc.). That's not practical for the street either. If ya want to go around corners, get a 600, if you want to tour, get a Goldwing. If you want to dragrace, get a Busa/12R or now a ZX14!

ZX-12R, stock motor, Muzzy/PC3 63in, 60-shot dry, 750#, 9.001
ZX-14, stock motor, Brock smeg/PC3, 63.5in, ~750#, 9.31 NA, 8.95 40-shot dry.

I have nothing against drag racing bikes or cars. I built engines for a customers CB750 back in 1971 for drag racing in the Iowa area. It was fun to get the phone calls on how it was performing.
I drag raced cars for a number of years, both street racing and at the strip.
I understand drag racing, but always thought the most purpose built machine was the best way to pursue the sport.
enjoy !

Most people don't really want to spend thousands of dollars on a purpose built bike to go bracket racing for a $300 win.
Because that what you're doin unless you're following prostar or mir/rock.
You can lower or not lower and go racing everyweekend and have far more fun with streetbike. I've done both and I think streetbikes are the way to go! And the streetbike/no bar classes are quickly gaining popularity. Mainly becuase of the same tech you guys use to go carvin'! lIghtweight, high hp and very adjustable suspensions.
