5 lengths quicker is only good if they actually raced it against a busa over and over...if they're just quoting numbers, well that is dubious.

9.7 seconds at 125MPH (200kmh) .
The numbers don't jive unless it ran out of gearing.
The suzuki SV1000 runs 10.9 at 125 mph.
What a loser.

Dubious, what the rectal punk didn't do for you also, was hand you a Kawasaki Good Times Certificate. Good for one new 2006 "Special Edition" Kawasaki jacket (retail value $299.95).

Here is an interesting quote on the gift card; Purchase a new 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle within 90 days after the international Motorcycle Show in Long beach and receive...." the jacket, etc.
The show was on the 9th of Dec. I need the bike the first week of Feb. to get the vin# off the bike, and be within that window to collect the jacket. Bike release is when?

No bike, no jacket. Show blow, lets go. Show suck, lock up.

Speedgene... since he's in Canada he'd be dealing with CKM, a different company than KMC who displayed in Long Beach, who may not have the same offer.

Agreed fish, but that sure is a short run of jackets for the few in California or the USA. This might be the Kawasaki standard jacket line with a one time limited run of 14 logo'd jackets for the 14 buying public? I can only guess?
If anything, this is info to pass onto the others that missed the certificate hand outs. Repo or photocopies are not valid.

U guys are about to get a big surprize, i am keeping my oo 12r because i predict the 14 will have 169.6 hp to the rear wheel and 110 ftlp torqe, not enough to brag about, its good for about 1 bike length on a stock bus with equal rider abilities, but on a good note u do get a fancy instrament panel.

gene.. . I dont care what the card you got in LA says....

read my lips... CKM (Canadian Kawasaki Motors) and KMC (Kawasaki Motors Corp) are TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES.

I hope that clarifies it for you.

Do you think your coupon for 7-11 or Chevron that's good in texas is good in Canada?

Not only are they different companies, but it's a different COUNTRY.

If you look closely and click on each picture in the website, they leave one stock clip on , and replace the other with heli clip on.
The front shots show the change in height and angle.
Look closely- they are comparison shots!

Interesting - I spent bout 30 minutes at the 14 display and talked to 2 different reps (one who even remembered the Bikeland crew in Seattle) and didn't get no stinkin "card" or even mention of one, WTF???

D, All you can do is try getting a card or voucher from Kawasaki:
Consumer Events, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.
Attn: IMS, P.O. Box 25252
Santa Ana, CA 92799-5252

Sorry to hear that D. At the LA show, I waited my turn to sit on the bike. A rep came up, and the first thing I said was, (paraphrase*) *I'm here to see if the bike fits me.' 'I have a deposit at the dealer, and need to call tomorrow to either cancel or confirm.*
The rep then said, *Well, if you decide to purchase the bike, here is a free jacket from Kawasaki*....and handed me a card in one hand, and held a stack of others in the other. Swinging back later in the evening, someone else on the floor, was ready to hand me another card without saying a word!
Should I tell you how great my timing was sitting on the bike? While I was asking questions, the gentleman who was working the floor, said that Rickey Gadson was around here, and could answer some of my questions. John the rep (I believe) introduced me to Rickey, and we proceeded to talk about the 14. Rickey said he tested a 14 in some alleyway, and said the bike felt stronger than a Busa. (Gotta keep ya on the edge of your seats. So how much stronger you ask?...insert an adjective). Rickey also talked about the dash panel with the two drag racing options you can set the rpm to. I then asked Rickey about the limitation on the bore on the bike display cut-out. I noticed the cylinder wall at the front lower exhaust side looked pretty narrow. Rickey said he was more concerned how close the cylinder wall clearance was to the next cylinder? Then we were interrupted by some guy who started talking to Rickey about the exhaust system. I guess he was listening to our conversations, because we drifted to talking about the exhaust, and then this guy starts with the 'wave' this, and the 'back pressure' that, and on and on. Then the guy just walks away! You knew by the way he was talking, was more hot air, than knew what he was talking about. I believe Rickey was with his father, and we all looked at each other, and his dad said. "What was that all about?" We had a good laugh. I had a nice experience at the show meeting Rickey, plus locking in a jacket.
Rickey is very approachable. Nice guy. No ego. He knows who he is. Yeah, Rickey and I go way back.....about 1 month.

I was at the Edmonton show as well and I gotta admit, I was disapointed that this "great new beast" was roped off.....not that I'm interested in a purchase, but I did want to sit on it to see what it was like.......sad, all this "top secrect" shit......its not like it's a concept bike, people have money down on it, they should be able to sit on it. Very disapointed in Kawi

Hey Dubious,

Thanks for your error filled, twisted little rant about your visit to the Kawasaki booth at the Edmonton show. Allow me to make a few corrections to set things straight as well as expose how much bullshit flows freely out of your mouth and fingers.

You were not talking to a 19 year old Kawi rep. Although the 2 reps there can faintly remember those good ol beer guzzling days of being 19, they've past that mark some time ago. You may have spoken to someone from a local dealership as everyone was wearing pit shirts. Perhaps that "threw" you off...
I for one talked to a few people about the 14. I only had 1 guy who weighed about 90 lbs soakin wet, ask to sit on it, to which I replied no and explained that the bike was pre-production, that the fit and finish isnt really there and that we didnt want consumers to make a decision on the feel of the bike in case there are changes. I further explained that the bike, at the time of our conversation isnt even yet in production. Those bikes you have been reading about in the states are for testing purposes only and may not be the final product. This person, nor anyone else for that matter laugh out loud and told me to shut the fuck up, nor did I hear that told to anyone else in the booth.

Because the final product has not been established and had not gone into production at that time, we don't have specs to give out because they wouldnt be accurate, would they? Does that make any sense???? What we have been told so far...and this was relayed to the sales people working in the booth, is that preliminary reports from Japan indicate that hp will be in the 192 range, 200 with ram and approx 175 to 180 at the wheel. Initial testing showed the bike running the 1/4 mile in the low 9's at about 240, if I remember correctly. There is no seat height or dry weight available because the bike HASN'T gone into final production at that time, nor will that information be released until the press launch in late February. I'm sorry that you'll have to wait until then to get a poster to hang up in your bedroom.

As far as your comments regarding the shape of the bike, please try and wrestle with the concept that there is only 1 pre-production bike in Canada..the one you saw at the show. That bike had already made appearances at the Toronto and Calgary shows. They do tend to get jostled abit while making the rounds at shows..not mention the morons who sneak onto the display with un-zippered jackets and lay on the bikes. As far as the baked on dirt, the bike came here in winter so I dont know what the hell youre talking about..and right about now, it doesnt really matter..

As far as the reps being rude, ignorant and full of shit........They make thier living selling bikes and promoting the product thier employer manufactures. Being rude and ignorant doesnt really pay the bills if you're that way with customers...does it?
Now....if you want rude or ignorant, let me know what dealer you have your deposit with. Most dealers in the Edmonton area have already sold most of the 14's they have ordered. Wouldnt it be a bitch if your dealer was shy 1 bike?

Although I appreciate your interest in Kawasaki product, please keep your little guy/big bark rants to yourself..at least until you get your facts straight.

To everyone else wanting to purchase the 14....they should be on dealers floors in Canada in March sometime(I'm not giving a date because I'm not the dude in Japan who knows when there will be enough made to fill a boat and send it off to North America). Enjoy your ride!
