I for one am glad to see the ZX14

Kawi let us ZX11 guys down with the intro of the 12R. Suzuki built the bike that in reality was the replacement for the ZX11.

Now Kawi has finally redeemed themselves for this mistake imho.

For all you "sport" guys, they have given you the 10R , which you all claim has more of everything performance wise than the 12R (other than shear torque).

Here is a Team green 'Busa eater, no doubt about it, be glad that they now have a bike to kick the targets butt!

So don't go getting your tail in a knot because Kawi went back and corrected a 6 year old error!

Hopefully they did it as right as it appears to be.

It's no 14R, it's a 14...
And Kawi is at least 5 years too late with this bike. Times have changed. There's a (voluntary) speedlimit now, so the 2000 Busa and 12R will stay the fastest production bikes (for ever?).

Right you said voluntary. I would laugh my ass off if Kawasaki said screw you and let'er rip. However, the 180 mph speedo makes me think otherwise

I dont think that speed "limitation" has ever really been an issue... Ridgeracer from this very site cracked that nut years ago... ... Perhaps there will be a market in selling gauge faces that go past 200?

Well...I was disappointed with the 2006 10R, but after going back and looking at those pics again, the 10R is absolutely beautiful compared to that ZX-14 abomination. I think I'll be on a 06 10R next spring.

Hmmm, seems to me you are saying all those fellas out there that have put big bore/ stroker kits in their 12R's are liars since they say they kick 'busa's arse all the time.

I welcome the new bike...The thing that sticks out to me is the loss of 500 rpm at the redline. The 12's redline at 11,500 rpm,the pics show what looks like an 11,000 redline..increased piston speeds have taken a bite out the rpm capability. With the bigger motor you probaly wont need it!

Thats true. I also like the new ZX14. It's the bike everybody was dreaming after the ZX11. Only thing I don't like it in is the fact that I probably don't have the $$$ to get it next year...

And about Busa. If 100 cc smaller Kawi is faster, 53cc bigger is going to be a much faster

Don't get me wrong about the Zx12. I've loved it from day one but I think that this ZX14 will smoke it in every gategory...

What Kawasaki should have done is replacing the ZZR1200 with a ZZR1300 tourmodel like the FJR1300 and upgrading the ZX-12R to a ZX-14R. Now they think they've given us the best of both words, but I think we're stuck with the worst of both worlds...
I might be wrong though, first tests should reveal a lot.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. The ZX14 will go 200 with a few stupid low-cost mods. It'll kick the Busa in the 1/4 and will equal or better it in top speed (with mods). The 14 is a superior bike to the Busa in every way, except maybe in the aerodynamics dept. Meantime, it brakes way better, has a better brake feel, goes faster, gets there quicker, out handles the Busa and has a superior ride to boot. Oh, and it's just as ugly as the Busa too...so wtf are you all about - because it's not a true 1400? Who gives a fuck? Look at the power it makes with a 1352...you need more? Turbocharge it and stop whining like bitches, or buy a real 1298 Busa and get yer ass kicked. All about the rider anyway.

It feels good when you know stock your bike of choice you puchassed is the leader albeit very minimal margin performance in most cases the last several years in the litre + categoy. When xyz mfg can release a bike in the same displacment segment and it is .50 quicker with a meatier mid range gains and 30+ lb weight loss stock ithat s something I would consider a performance improvement not the mesly .10-.15 1/4 mile difference

But .....than reality slaps an ugly reminder in your face-lighter and better riders, deeper pockets for mods and the king of the year is suddenly slow.

Sure performance is part of any purchase decesion but for me anyway there is emotional attachment I get form the lines or look of a bike that says I have to that bike, or wish I could have in addition to xyz bike. I luv my old 1k, but I like Zx-6, r6, r1 Zx-10,12's,14's, etc

Just so many good choices in many displacement classes today to choose from.

I just try to enjoy the rush, results from mods and the comardarie and as a rule despite what one can read on the many brand biased boads the majority in person do as well the latter no matter which sportbike they ride or what they post on a message boards
