...I got all kinds of dirty yesterday...took sumthin' so gorgeous (in this eye's beholder anyway) and got nasty with it all the way up to 6500ft

Go roll in the dirt and mud like a dog! Wait until you see how much fun and money you can spend on equipment and goodies for your new machine!
Do yourself a favor and invest in a chest protector. There are some good externals and some good wear under the shirt units. I took a tree endo inthe chest one time that luckily the tip snapped so I only had a 3" section of the tree try to impale me. Felt like I had been jousting! Took almost the rest of my life to start breathing again and the bruise went away a few months later. My friends thought I had had open heart surgery!! Chest Protector is a must have!!!

...AFFRIM!...protective gear is a must...I'm such a scaredy-cat when it comes to safety gear...I'm a stout believer in gettin' the best safety gear I can afford...
...when I went to pick up my KLR, I walked in with street clothes and a large black bag...went over the bike, signed the papers, etc...went into the restroom and reappeared a few minutes later in my all-black street-bike leathers, Technik spine protector, black Sidi boots, black AC-10 helmet, black and Violator gloves in hand...my dealer asked, "Do you always put on all that stuff when you ride your bikes?"...I told him that its just in case cuz' I don't heal as fast anymore and I need this stuff....
I'll use these old crash-tested Joe-Rocket perforated suit and SidiAir Carbon boots and bomb around on the streets and easy dirt roads for awhile as I break it in...I must look like something otta' MadMax at a traffic light...I'm roasting, kids point and laugh, women look and wonder, men wish they could...but its a blast!...all I need is a pair of those ICON Ti gloves and I'll be set
...Chaparral superstore is about 45 minutes from here...I'm in 'trouble'

Garnet makes a good dual purpose boot, called the Explorer. Not as good as a moto cross boot but good for walking.
