Head repair - scored cam supports

My 00 12R head has 1 scored support for each cam. More like a scratch. It isn't super nasty, but it can be felt with a finger or fingernail.

Is is possible to repair and re-align-bore damage like this? Is the head trash now? The local shop says a new head is $1800 which is a bit steep when added into my spun rod bearing damage on the crank.

So, I guess Falicon can fix the crank for a few hundred........but I'm not sure about the head.

Any tips or advice? I can use an '02 - ''04 head also, right? Really hoping to find a used one if I have to get one.

You'd think that head shops ( no, not that kind of head shop ) could build up a scored/pitted area, and mill it back to spec........not sure but you would think it could be done -- try this question over in the ZX14.com forum, there's some knowledge over there about this sort of thing
