to big companies these days everyone is running as lean as possible, any cost savings are being looked at. someone probably gets a bonus for saying they saved the company money. how many bikes does kaw have to sell each year to support motogp? probably all of them. i doubt they like to give all their bikes away. i'm not saying it is right but the bottom line affects their thinking.

hope the savings generated will offset the goodwill lost by their devoted fan and customer base this sort of thing means a lot to people that are crazy about kawi's.

Fish, I beg to differ. To be honest, think about it. Kawasaki is on the bottom of the Totem Pole in Moto GP, World Superbike, and AMA. That is with the exception of Jamie in AMA we were pretty much the last of the Factory bikes. And lets not talk about world superbike. I'm only 26 so maybe before I really got into racing in about 2000 Kaw might have been competitive. And Gp I also wished the best for Malandri and Hopper this year but maybe they'll put them in World and have a competitive team.

That road racing is not what most KAW fans buy their bike for anyway. Certainly not why I love KAW. More like the RAW power and sick reality of my screen name KILLAKAW. Cuz it seems KAWS are more likely to bite your ass then just bark.

I would like to see them race but it doesn't stop me from wanting to buy a KAW.

Just my 2 cents but I'm only .000000001% of the population.

I was hoping this wasn't going to be happening. Such a same, I wanted Melandri to do well. I wanted Kawasaki to do well. KHI is so big, one would think they could absorb any loss. Damn.

KHI can assume the MotoGP loss but why would they? But any sector of a business not prospering is bound to be slashed.

In the long I think they will suffer and it will cost them dearly....its a black eye for sales worldwide to say "our brand can't play"

Honda is rumored to go next...but its still rumor phase.

an annoucement recently that the World Superbike Team are

much more in the competition

a WSB team probably operates at 1/2 the cost of a motoGP team

maybe far less

yet the succes & results more directly related to the showroom

the grids usually twice as large as motoGP & many of the personalities

podium finishers & champs from GP

attendance as consistent as GP on many of the same tracks

smart move

They are still testing, hopefully they will keep the team intact.

I think them dropping out of GP is a big mistake if they are serious about selling ZX6 & ZX10… But the question you need to ask is with the cost of R&D are they actually making any money with those lines?

It looks like the 650 in North America will not have Fuel Injection because of the cost, they are dropping the 500 because of the cost it would take to update it… I think they are really hurting with the drop in the world economy.

I wonder what is next.
