Rossi Accident: Yamaha Factory Racing Team Press Release

03 February 2009 - Fiat Yamaha

Valentino Rossi has received stitches to his left hand and left foot, after a slight accident at his home in Italy.

The Fiat Yamaha rider was closing the curtains in his house when he tripped and fell onto a glass table, which broke, cutting the ring finger of his left hand and the sole of his left foot. He went straight to the hospital and received a few stitches to each injury.

The injuries are not serious but it is not yet clear whether or not they will make him uncomfortable when riding this week. Nevertheless Rossi will fly out to Malaysia today as planned, where he will try to give 100% at the first test of the season, which starts on Thursday.

He can fly around a race circuit on a near-uncontrollable machine with excessive HP and razor-edge handling faster than anyone iin the world... but he can't close the curtains.

Cosmic give and take.
