I have tried Shoeis and they just don't fit and the shields are junk. I bought a Schuberth, wore it once and put it back in the box where it sits today. I just can't get away from the Arais.

I wish I could buy an Shoei or Arai that fit. I'm stuck with the lower end helmets because no one makes a helmet to fit my odd ball shaped head. Put it this way: I've found 3 THREE!! helmets that fit me in my life time. Thats it. I tried special ordering a "custom" helmet twice now (Shoei and I can't remember the other) and I got a call from the dealer saying it was cancelled because they dont have any molds big enough. I've got a X large head with a XXX large jaw... Even the helmets that "fit" require me to keep my hair short and the visor open because my jaw makes an airtight seal in the helmet, fogging my visor instantly.
Do you guys know how annoying it is to have to hold your breath when you are blasting down a straight to keep your visor from fogging when it self-closes at 75mph?

Arai makes different size pads for their helmets. The secret is to get a shell that is big enough then have them custom fit it with the right pads. A certified Arai dealer is supposed to do that for you and swap out the pads.
My Arai Profile fit my cheeks perfectly, but after a couple hours in the helmet my head was aching. I just ordered a new top pad and all was well.

yeah I know Ted, but they dont have any shells that are long enough in the front bar area. My dome of my head fits any XL or XXL helmet, but my jaw hits the front bar and I cant get it down. Hell, even when i had a dirt bike helmet with face guard, I had to shop around for a face guard that was long enough to clear my mug. And I even had to have my football helmets special made for me. One coach made me (my parents) pay for it, too. $350 in 1986 was alot of money! Hell, it's alot now!

Yes, I do! I wear a Shoei RF1000 XXL.
All the time I lay on the tank and haul ass WOT, the shield gets fogged up! Pisses me off. I'm purchasing a FOGCITY insert to put inside my helmet to see if that helps.

How did I do Nick? Did I pass your test ?
I will be the first to say Lefts are easier than rights for me.. But the first knee down this year was a right. Perhaps that little block is over.. Honestly anytime I'm putting a knee down I'm going slower than I could be going if I weren't putting it down. It's strictly a poser move done for laughs. Fun but not the fast way..

Left turns are my strong side nowadays too. I can get really low on the lefties. That's funny you mention that, because I'm the same way. Honestly, I've never touched my knee on my right side, but I have on the left. That is so strange. I've never touched at all though on this 14, but I'm sure I've been close. And yes! I agree. On the street it seems I'm faster if I don't lean off, but on the race track, I'm faster leaning off.

I've been using the fogcity inserts for a couple years, they definitely help but dont completely stop the fogging. The real issue is scratching and glare.
The inserts scratch ridiculously easy and have too be changed often. Read the directions, it actually tells you to use a newspaper to clean it with. Like a friggin moron, instead of using my soft lense cleaning cloth I used a actual newspaper with alot of window cleaner to clean it to remove the finger prints from the install. Wasted $20, scratched it so bad I threw it in the garbage after 2 days. So don't follow the directions! use the softest clothe you have, and lots of running water. Should last 6 months or more that way.
Glare is another issue. During the day time you get multi colored glare through it, can be REALLY distracting if your eyes are sensitive to glare or bright light. Luckily glare doesnt normally bother me, but it can get bad. Have had to open the visor 100% when the sun is setting ahead of me just so I could see before.

I never understood the knee sliding thing myself. To do it just to do it is one thing, but when it becomes a measure of how good a rider you are it annoys me. I've out cornered and left in my dust uncounted amounts of guys who had scraped up knee and toe sliders, without having to scrape my knee in doing so. Good thing, too, since I don't have knee sliders.
I've scraped my toes pretty good, but thats just an issue of size 16 boots are so damn big I can't get them out of the way sometimes (need an airshifter!). It's kinda like wheely'ing: Doesn't mean you are an expert rider, but most non-riders and even some riders think it does. And then those riders get cocky...
