Absolutely. Mine have been riding since they were 3 years old. Now both are way faster than me in Moto. And both are extremely fast on Sportbikes. Love it. We are a motor cycling family and go fast on anything with a motor and two to four wheels.

My 15 year old son wants nothing to do with bikes. Likes riding my quad, but thats about it. I've tried everything, even offered to get him a scooter/moped to "try it out on" but he's uninterested. My 10 yr old daughter shows zero interest as well, and no matter how tame or slow I ride with her, she's scared of riding and only rides with me to spend time with me.
My 8 yr old daughter, however, is a different story. She has the competitive bug in her, and the stubborness to match. I watched her spend hour after hour, day after day going around my quad race track on her little 110cc quad, getting faster and faster, in order to beat my son on my 250.
She wrecked numerous times, including a hair raising cartwheel crash at about 30mph. She hopped up, bleeding from numerous scratches, and ran over to the quad to make sure it was ok. She never even looked at her injuries! Just looked the quad over, waited for me to straighten the bars and fix the controls, and was off and running.
When I asked her what she was thinking taking the downhill whoops that led to a 90 degree turn at full throttle, she scrunched up her face and told me "they are easier to go over when you go faster, and Jason never goes really fast over them, so I thought if I could do it I could pass him. I can never get past him because his (my) quad is too big."
Sounds like a future racer to me. Just working on her perception of sport bikes. She likes cruisers because they are loud and have lots of chrome, which in her mind makes them the faster, cooler bikes. She will learn. And hopefully someday pass ME in the technical areas of a track. I smile everytime I think of that!

Damn Sticks_n_Stones, your little one is awesome!
As hard as it must have been to see her crash and hurt, watching her get up and run to check the vehicle must have been a blast!

Exactly Freek. It absolutely froze me to the ground while the quad and her where cartwheeling through the air though. I kinda like that one, dont want her getting hurt! lol
It's just funny, she's my blonde bombshell, been absolutely gorgeous since she was born, "supermodel" looks, perfect curly dirty blonde hair that every lady who finds out its all natural is hugely jealous of. And she is more Tom Boy than any girl I've ever known! When my older daughter squeels and runs away because of a bug, frog, or lizard, her ears and interest perks up and she goes to investigate/and capture it. heh heh

Yes... I am really happy that we met MotoGirl and have her writing for us.
I think it is great that Fish_Antlers and Freek built her a place on bikeland to talk about her riding experiences and develop her skills as a writer.
She grew up racing - something I wish I could have done and I like hearing her perspective on things.

Does she have a forum? All I've seen is her articles. Is she allowed access to Bike Chat?

She isn't allowed access to the forums until she turns 19.
But you can always leave a comment for her in her column, if you have a question for her or want to discuss her articles with her.
