Motorcyclist Magazine - Honda 600rr!

Motor Cyclist magazine rated the redesigned Honda the best bike for '07 in front of Duc 1098, R1, ZX6, and Gixxer 1000.

Do you agree? Why or why not?

Honestly who cares? it is a subjective choice. The best bike is the one you, me or the next person bought!

I still cannot believe the fact that the 600RR(412lbs) now weighs 60 lbs less than the GSXR1000(471lbs).

Only 3 years ago at 445lbs they weighed the same!

hey what a fantasticly written article. I was surprised the article I read didn't note the 600RR was lighter than the triumph 675!

"The result? An astounding 412 pounds wet, ready to ride. This puts the new Honda well below the previous class anorexic, the Triumph 675, which scaled in at 417 pounds topped off with fuel."

In 2003 their 954 was 15lbs lighter than their own 600.

In 2004 600RR was 445, 1000RR 455.

Sad times.

Everybody and their momma said "It's so fat and heavy blah blah blah", now those same people are lining up to buy the 465-470+lbs GSXR1000 and R1. Maybe the new 1000RR will follow the 600RR, they might get it as light as the 430lbs literbikes of 2002-2005(954/ZX10R).

I bought a 2006 Yamaha YZF600R that weighed in at 412lbs.

Sometimes I regret the purchase because there are a lot faster bikes out there for barely more money, but it was my first bike so I figured I should get something reasonably light and not to fast (though, this thing still hauls a lot of ass).

My next bike however will probably be a Honda CBR 600RR maybe 1-2 years old used.

????

Don't let the manufacturer's advertised "dry weight" figures fool you, the actual running weight of the YZF600R is 455-485 pounds depending on how much gas you have in the tank. Good bike, I almost bought one as my 1st sportbike.
