I've seen your Yosh and I agree with many in saying that it is one of the best looking pipes I've seen on a 14.

Just a couple of points of "clarification" on my statements...

1. Never implied your were selling anything.
2. Showed what I thought was "respect" for your choice of modifications by saying, "I have no problem with..."
3. My point of contention was in your comparing two bikes that did NOT have similar mods and claiming the performance results would be similar. (RE: your last sentence in your earlier post)
4. No biggie on posting your charts to "my standards", 'cuz you don't owe me (or anybody else here) anything. I would suggest you take a floppy disk or blank CD for the dyno operator to store your runs on (call first and find out which media to bring). That way, you can analyze your runs at your leisure using Dynojet's viewer.

I'm not flaming you. I was just questioning your comparison made in your last sentence.

FYI - I don't even own a 14. I own a '04 10R and once owned a '00 12R (and various other bikes)

I'm clear on your intended message.
Wish I had a 12R, one of the coolest Kawi bikes.
Working on a ZX7R radiator mod on my ZRX1200 and ZX9 USD forks as well.
After I'm done with it, it'll be renamed "ZRX1200R/X7-9R
Cheers

TRE in Japan

Just FYI and giggles...A Japanese made TRE goes for $200 in Japan. They have two things up on the US TRE version.....cuts the 300KM speed limiter and retains the stock gear postion indicator. hmmmmm......I knew the Japanese were smarter.....
I told my friend about the flies out mod and after a chuckle, he said it's old news. Most bike shops figured out the "flies out" theory earlier this year. There's already a 212 RWHP ZZR1400 tuned by Yoshimura. Only internal mod was Yoshimura Stage 1 camshaft. with adj cam gear and of course a custom mapped PCIII, and Yosh 4-2-1 exhaust.
They should put a Brocks system which will yield them another 3-5 hp.

He did mention there were quite a few 14s in the salvage yard. Kind of like the days when the RZ250, 350, 500 and RG500 came out on the market back in early 80s. Instant death for the unsuspecting.

Don't be silly, I dig the 06 Corvette...you can't get that in Japan, well you can but you'll pay with your left and right balls to include 4 fingers and 3 toes.

Can't recall the name of the US company making this sepcific unit. I'll check my email for the response I received from them.

Any novice with the right tools can do a cam swap in less than two hours. Really isn't much to it. If you can't figure out the difference between metric and sae sockets then you'd be better off sending it off to a shop. Probably $180 -$250 for the job but depends on where you live. Shop rates vary.

Give yerself more credit than that....I was very reluctant in tackling the degreeing until I did it myself one Saturday. The only special tool you need is a degree wheel kit....I borrowed my friends. Less than an hour to get the degree numbers set.and this after the 3rd time doing it. First go around took about 2hrs. Piece of cake...

I'll see what it does with a custom map tomorrow. Dyno with TRE and without to see if it's worth using it.

Hi there Brock , I have read your report on the zx 14 as I also have a zx14 black in colour but I have never raced on a track , but your hard work on the zx 14 was greatly appreciated, as I was also wondering how to get a little better performance out of my street bike , I now have a better understanding with reguards to having the flies out and just using the Tre , I am also researching for information about the G-pack as it is supposed to release the top end limiter , so that full speed can be obtained above the 300 km limit.l Any way thanks for the hard work and time on this project . I ran the TRE 008 with stock exhuast and no Power Commander for several months over the summer.. Big increase in low end torque with absolutely no negative side effects whatsoever!. We had Ryan Schnitz strap one on the dyno and the A/Fs were fine, same as a stock bike. Only reason I took it off was when I pulled the flies out and added a pipe, PC3 and a map from Mr. Ivan. I'm using his TRE 006a now and it works great as well! Very smooth power and no decel popping.

Cheers,

Kruz

Fish & the TRE

You know fish I am not sure if you are serious or just a smart ass (actually I know the answer to that question). You just cant give it up can you. The test you commisioned (thank you very much) with Brock proved the TRE actually did work on the ZX-14 thanks to the objectivity of Brock Davidson. Despite the smarmy introduction to Brocks original report written by this website you can't disguise the fact that the thing actually does what Ivan claims it does. Can't say I am paid by Ivan because I bought my pipe, power commander and lowering kits from Brock. I did buy a TRE from Ivan which constitutes less than 5% of the money I spent with Brock so far which in you're eyes probably qualifies me as paid off. I don't know Ivan personally but one thing I can say with confidence is you wouldn't make a pimple on his ass as a tuner or engineer.

Does anyone know if the G-Pack is useful or better in some respect than the Ivan's box?
