Kawasaki Double Header in a Rain Drenched Seattle
The second to last stop on the Amp'd Mobile Supercross tour soaked its way into a soggy, muddy and cold Seattle Washington. The outdoor track in an open roofed Quest Stadium was pounded all day by heavy rain and wind, canceling several practice sessions and forcing officials to shorten the lengths of the races, including scrapping sighting laps. By a stroke of luck the downpour stopped almost as soon as the first race began, leaving the crowd to watch the riders navigate their way around a track that was now full of (literally) small lakes and rivers.
Kawasaki's James "Bubba" Stewart stormed to a first place finish, with Yamaha's Chad Reed following behind him. A disappointed Ricky Carmichael fought his way back from a poor start and managed to finish third. As the riders head towards Vegas for the final showdown, the season's points totals are close, with Stewart on top.
Grant Langston took the Lites adding another feather in the cap for the Factory Kawasaki Racing team.
Amidst all of the mud and grime Bikeland spent some time with Stewart and his staff. The photos will be uploaded to our gallery shortly. Thanks to Denny and Clearchannel for up close and personal access to this event.
