seems a shame to tear down what looks liek a perfectly good building from the outside. dont know how old it was tho. too bad they didnt design the track with more runoff in the first place so they wouldnt have to do this now, but i guess speeds and safety concerns were far less prevalent back then.

I don't think you realize the difference in speed of the cars racing in the '50's, as compared to today. Yes, safety is a greater concern today, but don't denigrate the design of the track based on current standards without taking into account all the factors.

That's like saying 'wow, why didn't they design that airport runway to take into account the jumbo jets that would need to land there in another fifty years...
