I know.....
I think that's what is needed here, some good old "shock" value......maybe then, cagers will understand.......I personally can't count the number of times a vehical has pulled out in front of me,......people just don't pay attention.....that's what's scary.

First step IMO is to ban cell phones while driving.
I have a cell phone and there is nothing that is so important that it can't wait until I get home of pull over. Thats why God made voice mail.
Probably 80% of the idiot moves I see while driving are people yapping on a cell phone or trying to read a phone book while driving.
Lets face it. Many people are marginal drivers with 100% of their attention on driving. Throw a cell phone into the mix and they become flat dangerous.

or snotty nosed kids in the back seat crying for attention......
or a dog sitting on the drivers lap....
or the driver trying to eat a hamburger thats falling out of the wrapper.....
or trying to change the CD in the player.....
or normal everyday people that have their mind elsewhere (work, home, relationships, etc)...
....there are way more distactions out there than just a cell phone, granted the cell phone is one of them, that I'm not arguing, I simply wanted to point out the others and to say that I'm not so sure it should be the first ban....and if it is...where do you stop banning?
oh, and I don't believe "God" made voice mail.....

I don't have the time right now to read the whole article......maybe later because it is an interesting subject......but, I still say it's not the only distraction, and for many people it rates as a lower distraction than other things in the vehicle......that is all that I was saying.....for me, talking on the cell is not a distraction, for I can still keep my eyes on the road.....but then again, I'm special....

ok.....just read the article.....
it was good, but I fail to see how they can title it "Cell Phones, Driving Don't Mix" when in the article they admitted that it wasn't only cell phones that cause a problem.....and the part where they say that conversing with the passenger is differant because the passenger will not speak in a dangerous situation....uh, well, what about kids in the back seat, they never shut up (unless sleeping, and even then the driver is looking back to see why they are quiet)....and if talking to a passenger is the same as on a cell phone (other than the "during the dangerous situation" part, my post was that drivers are not "looking" they just pull out, so they are the ones causing the "dangerous situation" but ya, I guess when the passenger sees the bike one second before impact, he/she will shut up.......
in other words, that article didn't really have anything to do with my post..... sorry blitz, it was a good article though, it did prove my point about cell phones not being the only distracitons.
