Poll Question: Will we see more Kawi's on the podium for 2006???
So what do you think, are we going to start seeing more Kawi's on the podium?
Kawasaki just announced their largest contingency money program ever. And while it's still nothing like Suzuki's I think we're going to see waaaaaaaay more Kawi's being bought this next year for racing.
They're paying out $59,800 for WMRRA events (4 classes) alone! And they're paying out to 5th palce (they pay out way deep in other orgainzations, up to 20th).
Now if only Yamaha and Honda would get on board with a program like this, we'd really see a diversified grid.
Here's a couple links for you:

Yes, with this new contingency money program more riders will be on Kawi's.

No, regardless of this program the grids will still be basically the same.

Sure, I didn't really understand that money was paid out by the manufacturers.

The word is that Kawi has addressed some of the rear suspension issues that hindered the '05. If the bike is good and there's money to be made, the racers will come.

Not in MotoGP, now. Though I expect the bike to be considerably improved for 2006, and quite possibly relatively improved to the Hondas and Yamahas, I don't have the confidence that Nakano really is a Top Three rider even given an absolutely equal bike.
