Husqvarna 2006
Husqvarna's 2006 SM610:

2006 Street/Supermoto: Husqvarna SM 610
Introducing the new Husqvarna SM 610. Built specifically for Supermotard fans that use their bikes every day, requiring comfort without sacrificing with racing appeal. The new machine is a perfect example of how a beautiful racing bike can be transformed for everyday use. The SM 610 is a perfect blend of performance and stunning good looks.
The new Husqvarna SM 610 is a machine of many faces, with the highly specialized capabilities one expects from a Husqvarna, yet suited for a wide range of riding styles. With an innovative blend of racing technology and comfort-oriented design, it is the perfect solution for a rider who wants to own a Supermotard that can also handle longer journeys. The SM 610 is powered by an outstanding engine that performs brilliantly even at low rpm's, making it perfectly suited to everyday use. Significant innovative improvements include modifications to the cylinder head and the addition of a new Keihin carburetor.
The SM 610 is uniquely beautiful, available in either a dark gray pearlized finish or the traditional Husqvarna yellow and blue racing scheme. The bike is fitted with a headlamp grille that acts as a partial wind screen. It is matched by the high, stubby front fender, similar to those used on the racing versions. The 12 litre tank has a locking fuel cap. The digital instrumentation - which displays the normal warning lights, turn indicators, high/low beam, speed, mileage, rpm, and time - also features a trip meter and displays service intervals. The SM 610 R has been designed to allow passengers to ride in comfort, thanks to an improved seat and anti-slip passenger footpegs. Saddlebags are available, attaching to special clips fitted to the rear frame and fender.
The handlebars and controls are very similar to those found on the SM 450/510 R racing version but also include a new brake pump with 4 available lever positions. The frame was stiffened and strengthened using traditional steel tubing with less steering column area and by using a more compact single tube cradle. The swing arm is the same as used on the 450/510 twin cam models and has a new Sachs shock absorber featuring twin brake adjustment for compression and rebound using a redesigned linkage with a new progression curve. The suspension and brakes are the same as those on the SMR models, but with lighter, completely adjustable settings. The Marzocchi 45 mm inverted forks have adjustable compression and rebound damping. The rear suspension features a redesigned linkage with a new progression curve. The swinging arm is the same as used on the 450/510 R racing models. The new Sachs shock absorber is fully adjustable for compression and rebound. Brakes are by Brembo. The front uses a floating 320 mm disc with new 4-piston calipers and individual brake pads. The rear is fitted with a 220 mm disc.
The 610 engine offers many improvements over previous versions. A counterbalancer is used to offset the vibration normally associated with large single-cylinder motors. The engine is significantly more powerful than the previous version thanks to new higher compression pistons and the fitting of a Keihin MX 41 carburetor. Power output at the flywheel has increased to about 39 KW (about 54 CV ) at 7,000 rpm. The 4 valve, single overhead cam and rocker arm system has variable valve springs and a new timing chain tensioner to reduce noise. The engine has twin oil pumps. One pump supplies oil to the head and crankshaft, while the second pump services the crankcase and the gearbox. Other design elements that were included specifically to improve performance include the single pipe exhaust system with integrated catalytic converter and a new cooling system featuring an electric fan, thermostat, and redesigned air box.

Very cool Tren ! I was real close to pullin the trigger on a 05 510 enduro but ended up sticking with KTM. As for price, the Husky TE510 was about $700 less than the comparable KTM 525 E/XC.
Husky makes a nice ride IMO, lots of quality parts on them stock.
