Rossi maintains his rule at Catalunya

Valentino Rossi took his fourth consecutive win this season at Catalunya after running a flawless race against local hero Sete Gibernau. Just like last year, the Spaniard led most of the race but proved unable to prevent a late surge from the reigning World Champion.

At the race got underway, Valentino Rossi diced for top position with Sete Gibernau and his Movistar Honda team-mate Marco Melandri, before settling for second behind Gibernau. As the pair escaped from the pack, Melandri was battling for third position with Honda factory colleagues Alex Barros and Nicky Hayden.

Rossi charged with only three laps to go, setting a new lap record on the way to his 47th win in the premier class.

"It was a great race! The pace was incredible, lapping in the 1'43 after a hard battle at the start of the race," commented Rossi. "Gibernau did a great job today, he was very quick, but as the race went on, he began to slide and I was able to push in the last few laps. I made my move and did three amazing laps to get this great win."

Behind Rossi and Gibernau, Marco Melandri secured his third podium of the season after an all-out battle against Brazilian veteran Barros and an impressive Hayden. Max Biaggi crossed the line in a lonely sixth position, taking the flag 12s after the winner.

Holy fuck.
Why would you put something like that in the title of the thread.
You're some sort of bigwig here too.
Thanks just a whole fucking lot. Now I get to watch later and know the outcome in advance.
I just fucking love that shit.
Idiot.

I guess I just don't know how this site works yet.
Maybe I don't belong here.

Well... you could avoid the front page news section if you know there is a race on later that day that you want to watch.

As soon as we are told the results we post them.

Knowing the outcome - has never stopped me from watching a good race.

Please don't put the results on the home page. Maybe post something like results inside.

Well - all i can do is suggest that you open bikeland to the index page, and not the front page news section.

Then you can go to the forum you want to go to - and try to avoid the tempting juicy hot off the race track news section.

Gar... this site has a very large news component. We receive upwards of 20 news releases a day, and we publish them as soon as we receive them. The titles and headlines are located on the frontpage/ news section, and also periodically (as in the case with MotoGP releases) mirrored into other forums. The readership of this site is spread around the world, and unfortunatley it appears that you live in the last time zone to see the race. There isnt much we can do about that.

Just my two cents...cause it really bothers me too when I open up the SportbikeZone section (not the News section) and I am just told who wins the race early.

Maybe, please oh please..just make the thead title something like this:

MotoGP - Catalunya *SPOILER*

We know its motogp and where, but the spoiler title would help prevent peeps from clickin on it if they havent seen the race.

Just my two cents though.

We cant re-title press releases, but if it helps we wont mirror the Sunday results into the Sportbike forum... They will, however, remain in the News sections. I'd recommend NOT checking the news here Sunday mornings... We cant hold the news back that many hours for the rest of the membership.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I try to keep a blind eye to headlines and such on Sundays, but when it's right there I'm screwed. It does appear I'm not the only one, and of course we may be at the tail end of the time zones, but were way more important than any of the other zones. You should know that. ;-)
princesskiwi, I have no doubt I'll still watch the race.
I'll see you and Oliver at Laguna.
