Active Mountain Raceway Merrit B.C.
whoooooo hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Active Mountain raceway is under construction finally.
It;s a 2.5 mile road course with elevation changes and a actual run off area oppposed to tires and trees., I've been waiting for a real track to be built up here since Westwood was closed (I'm sorry but Mission is a death trap of a road course.) I don't know about this year but who knows we might all be gathering for Bikeland Track Days in August.
Merrit is only four hours from seattle and a couple from Vancouver and the ride there is pretty good for highway riding.

Anyway they're having a roadrace school and a tri oval for the nascar types and a go-kart track as well. I know where I'll be this summer.

Hope it finally gets finished.... its an on again off again project... would be great for the lower mainland to have a real track again.

they already started workin in the track layout last year, guess they're just startin up again now. looks like the track layout has changed some from the original plan/map, judging from the arial pic. only part that bothers me is that on a couple corners it looks liek the runoff is running downhill. hopefully it just looks that way cause of hte angle of the photo or something.

Well freek at least it has a run off and sand traps in the corners instead of just less hard stuff to run into.

i'll say. i refuse to ride at mission for that reason. i was on the track in a car once, and i'm comfortable with that, but not on a bike.
