Windy Ridge ride question As I worked on the bike today and pondered the coming spring, I thought about finally going up to Windy Ridge during the summer up to Mt St Helens. Then, as I watched the news tonight, I learned there have been "startling new activity and developments" in the crater. Does anyone know if, with all the activity on the mountain, the Windy Ridge Observation Point and the road to it are even going to be open this year?
I suppose they could leave it open and I could be there when the big eruption hits; in which case I actually would be fried! Ahahahahahahaha! OH! I'll be here all week! Try the veal and don't forget to tip your waitress. Goodnight!

The road to Windy Ridge, FS99, is closed at the junction with the FS25 road. The 25 road is open though, but right now it is a groomed snowmobile trail. Hwy 504 on the west side remains closed at Coldwater Ridge.

Don't know if Windy Ridge is going to be a good ride for the foreseeable future. Good roads are getting scarce. Too much traffic on most of them these days.
