Hey Foxy why not go in leathers and all?
When I street ride that's what I do. Get some weird looks though.
Get off the bike, helment and all and wade out into the water.
Stay cool for hours after that ..........

Hey fishster, I'm search'n for a picture in my race albums. I'll come up with some thing.

My leathers are very old and heavy as it is, if I wore them in the water I would need someone to help get me out. New ones on my Christmas wish list this year, see if Santa thinks I have been naughty or nice!!!

i wear a thin wicking layer under the leathers. it's actually my long underwear for skiing. i'v tried not wearing the leathers over the brithday suit, but the lining just isnt comfortable enough. fortunately the long underwear are very thin and pourous (almost a mesh) so they offer little insulation value. plus my "leathers" are actually kevlar and are SUPER breathable, much cooler than leathers (second-hand experience mind u). main thing is using the wicking layer keeps my leathers (and me) from getting too stinky. plus on longer trips, i take 2 pairs with me and can just wash the pair every couple days so i'm always in a fresh suit.

Bike shorts. Has a little paddin' in there for da boys (for the time when the braking forces outdo the knee pressure on the tank) plus the fact that I ride on superbike seats. No padding. And run endurance races.

ALso have the wicking shirt underneath. Actually works to keep ya quite cool.

I just bought a set of "Under Armour" cold weather football pants and shirt. Wow. These things keep you warm as heel in the cold. Wear them under your gear and you don't really need to layer in the cold.

Maybe OT, but thought it was of value now that its cold most everywhere.

www.underarmour.com No crash protection, it is cold weather football gear. Very light and very good at keeping body heat in and cold out. For a long sleeve shirt and pants it was about $100. They make all different kinds, but the one I use is the Cold Weather Gear. It is the same stuff NFL players wear in the real cold climates. You can get it at Sports Authority and most specialized sports stores.
