Sub 600 class bikes on this side of the big salty.

So why do you guys think the big 3 won't bring their sub 600 class sportbikes to this continent?

There must be a large group of riders that seldom take their rides far afeild. What better ride would you want for back road burning close to home?
RVF400
GSXR400
Even the Aprillia strokers.

i'm guessing it's for the same reason that we don't get the subcompact cars that are so popular overseas: no-one wants them. or i should say, not enough people to make it worth their while. in the US and to a slightly lesser extent canada, everyone wants the monster engine, and if it has 4 wheels, it should be enclused in a huge package. people like yourself who wantthe little 400cc sportbikes seem to be a rather small niche here.

I thought, as well, the geography of our country has a lot to do with it.
Euro, and Asia consider 20 minutes a long days ride? I have family from UK that are amazed to hear that I'll go even two hours to Kamloops for coffee. 4 hours round trip.
So with that in mind, a tiny little bike for a 10 ride day may be the biggest reason.
That and the universal American belife that "bigger is better" penis extensions included.

That being said, why then can't I bring my own into the country? Transport Canada and Canada Customs won't even let me bring one across the boarder unless it was previous insured in the great ol' US of Eh.

Nah they are sellin' old junk
Anything PRE 88 ain't gonna do it for me.

18" rears
16" front
brakes like peddle bikes
motors like a H/D [under powerd and over weight]

88 VFR400 would be my minimum needs. Looks identical to an RC30.

Price is the biggest reason.....cost just as much to make that little 400 or 250 as It does to make a 600.

Did I mention that I have a ZXR250 and a KR250.........sweeeeet rides!!!

by that logic, wouldnt it cost about the same to make a 600 or a 1200? then why is the 12 so much more $$?
