IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
July 21, 2004 is the 13th Annual RIDE TO WORK DAY.
If at all possible, please ride your bike to work.
The objectives of RTW Day are:
1. Draw attention to the fact that motorcycles can have positive effects on traffic and parking congestion.
2. Remind the public and politicians that there are a lot of us out there (which is why ALL motorcyclists need to ride).
3. Point out that motorcycling isn't just a frivolous weekend diversion but also effective transportation.
4. Demonstrate that motorcyclists come from all walks, strata, occupational, ethnic, and political parts of American life.
5. Get out of that boring, gas-guzzling, hard-to-park car, and have some fun on your commute!
The Ride to Work Day concept originated in England. This is its 13th year of observation in the United States. It is conducted annually on the third Wednesday in July.

Will the authorities allow race-only bikes on the road, then?

I hope so. If not, I better get my bike back together from the last track day!

I'll be working from the home office.
I guess I'll take a lap around the cul-de-sac Wednesday morning.

Guess I'll strap the pick and shovel on back. I love to dig ditches.
Thank God I'm not the Ice Cream Man, profits wouldn't be too high with this heat.

Hmm...Think I'll take the long way to work. Ride out to Port Townsend, take the ferry across to Whidbey Island, then across Deception Pass and down I5 to 405 to Bellevue...Bout 120 miles one way.

I'm teaching the MSF that day anyway, so I will most definitely be riding.

Rode to work today and realized why I don't ride to work. Everytime I blipped the throttle, I ended up doing 30 over the posted.

It was too freaking hot.
112 in the Shaded Wet Bulb today.
I'll do it for a half-day - out by 10:30 - on Friday, OK? Then I'll go hit the twisties for a pass to cook off the remaining rear tire - one coming in on Friday (for the trackday, ohboyohboyohboy)

I never ride to work as I have to carry tools, new/bad parts, docs, etc. Have no choice....need to cage it. However...
I did arrange a day at the office (education, it's summer), so I rode in yesterday. None of my co-workers knew about the ride to work day...
