Aftermarket ECU or Fuel/Spark Remapping on ZX-10R?

OK - my first post here (nods to the golf-clappers).

Someone in the know - will the ZX-10R's ECU be able to be overridden/augmented by a PCIII or similar box or is the ECU itself directly programmable?

Put differently, will we be able to either add a box or directly reprogram spark and fuel maps?

If the ECU interface is different, does anyone know if Dynojet or another company is working on a Power Commander-like box for this bike?

i believe DJ already has the new USB power commander listed for the 10r (someone said so in another thread in any case). it's not available yet of course, but looks like it will be. i would LOVE to see a bike with a ECU we could remap directly rather than taking the very kloogy approach of messing with the signals the ECU receives and outputs (or however it works exactly). but i doubt we'll see that anytime soon cause of legal worries or some such.

Buy a ZX6RR and a race ecu for it...Who knows, maybe next year when Kaw gets back into Superbike racing they'll offer a RR version.

If you go to the Power Commander web site it already has detailed installation instructions and maps and prices. It says available in Jan.

If I am not mistaken the old Yosh box could be used on the 12. I met someone at the track (Back in 2000) that remapped an Akro. The problem is it can not adjust every 500 rpm (It adj. low/mid/high), and no timing adjustment. Also everytime you need to make an adjustment, break out the box. OH, you better keep track of previous adj., to start from stock settings.

I thought the Yosh box worked on Busas/1K's?

Never heard of one bein used on a 12 - if so, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Hoping that Kaw will have the same program as they do for the ZX6RR. You can order the entire gamet of goodies right from Ron Ayers if you have a totally ignorant dealer...
