Poll Question: Twisties or Straight Line?
The debate rages on where the ZX-10R will most likely be found. If you were to buy one, where would we find you? To keep it simple, there are just two locations.
Twisties - include both "canyon carving" on the back highways AND either an occasional track day to full blown road course racing.
Straight Line - includes everything from street racing to ProStar.
Sure, there will be some that would do "all of the above", but for this poll, it's all about the "purist".

Anyone can drive the straights, it takes talent to go around corners fast.
OK, no death threats, please. I am saying that tongue in cheek. They both take a lot of talent to do well. I am proof of that. I suck at drag racing also.... It is most likely that my ZX-10R will never see a drag strip. Just twisties and track days.

I dont have any canyons in my area so I'll stick to straight lines with a bend if that's possible!

Hitman; head towards Warrensburg and you will find some nice backroads. If you want to make a day of it, go to Osage Beach (Lake of the Ozarks) and you will have more curves than you know what to do with.
As far as myself, the more curves the better. Straight line speed can be fun but the curves are always a challenge.

I'd love to take the new ZX10r out for a spin on Daytona's Speedway. The bike sounds like it will easily handle the techical tracks , but I like the WFO ones. It's gas..... or...... brakes.....baby.......no in between. !!

Hitman; do you ever ride towards the Branson area? There is some very good riding in the southwestern part of the state. The closer you get to Arkansas, the better.

If anyone wants some REAL twisties, take a trip to Deals Gap. AKA---The Dragon. Check this site out: http://www.tailofthedragon.com/

Hitman, I can understand yours and TB's frustration on not being able to illustrate the versitility of our current 12Rs, BUT... I'm of the belief that the 10R is more of a "purpose designed" then our beloved 12Rs are and that "purpose" is more narrowly focused.
Of course, Mr. Ellis has already proven that I am wrong in this belief, but I remain in denial. I can also appreciate the skills and talents involved in drag racing, as well as undertand that the potential power of the 10R motor would be well suited for numerous victories in this form of racing. I will also admit my obvious bias towards the twisties and my belief that the 10R was designed for this purpose, if not for being an all our road course bike with turn signals and mirrors.
Not to say I feel it's wrong to drag race this bike. Hell, me and my buddy street race our Sundiro scooters all the time (barely breaking the posted speed limits) and that is surely not thier designed purpose. Of course, after I polished the ports and modified the exhaust on one of them, speeds in excess of 50 mph (long past the 1000' mark) have been seen.
My point is, I still have the impression that the majority of potential 10R owners will be doing more of, if not exclusively, twisties with this new bike. I've already been surprised over the number of folks that plan on drag racing this bike... again, proving my ignorance, but I still stand "foolishly firm" in my belief that this bike is "designed" for twisties and track days.
BTW - AR23/AR16 is actually referred to as the "Pig Trail" (not "Pigtail"). It is a nice backroad, but if your interested in an extensive list of good Arkansas back highways in the NW part of the state, just e-mail me. I have over 140,000 miles of motorcycling experience of that area and have put some of my opinions down on "paper".
