ZZR goes in the Kaw dealership today...

Tranny's making some noise, so gonna have them look at it. Might talk to them about the 10R at that time as well...

Oh, the 660 Raptor is definately going to be traded. If I can get a better price at the Kaw dealership than the Yamaha dealership, I'll trade it for a 10R. If I can't, I get a new R1. Either way, I don't want to have ten different friggin' motorcycles. One should do. Ok, maybe two.

Well, when I accellerate, it sounds fine. But when I roll off and lightly decellerate or maintain steady state, I get a loud whine from the tranny area. I checked the wheel alignment, it looks ok. Checked the chain, didn't see any binding links. Good thing I have the extended warranty on zon ZZR.

Doodeedoodeedoo...No probs with the tranny, that's good. Waiting on some warranty response to get the switchgear fixed...The little plastic knob on the turn signal switch came off. Kaw can't just sell ya the knob, gotta be the whole left switch cluster...

Ok, so I rode it out from the dealer, and straight to Mike Velasco. The tranny is howling like a bitch, despite what they say...The Honda/Yamaha dealership rebuilt their service department recently, due to being ranked the second worse service dept. (Honda) in the country. If the kaw dealership (Cliff's in Bremerton) had ratings like that (they don't, because Kaw USA doesn't care) they would be rated the worst service dept on the north american continent.

One thing I really envy my canadian motorcycling friends for is the size and quality of their dealerships. Not all are huge, but even the small ones really seem to care.

Oddly enough, I get the same level of crappy, I mean - service at the dealer that is a mere 7-8 miles from Kawi HQ.

Have yet to find a dealer that will administer warranty/extended contractr without hassle even though I spend (lotsa) $ with them.

Will be replacing the chain and sprockets on the ZZR. What's nice is that the ZZR uses the same sprockets as the 12, so I was able to dip into my box of sprockets and come up with the same ratio (17/44) as stock on the ZZR.
