To trade or not to trade... that is the question..

So... I guess I'm not the only one with this problem.. so do I trade the 6r and the 12r fer a coupe of 10s, or do I wait?

Well?

You trade in that 6R, PK's gonna kill ya. First of all, you won't get squat fer yer 12. Second of all, How's she sposed to ride a 10R? What's the height of that seat?

Same problem here. Unfortunetly, I think the 12 would just sit and gather dust when the 10 arrives. I had a guy offer me $7000 for my '03 last weekend. I may take it... But I'd like to get more. Mint '03, 6600 miles, muzzy/jardine, Targa Undertail & Hugger color matched, BMC filters, pc3r, aluminum fans, muzzy block off plates, s.s. brake lines, muzzy steering dampner, new set of BT010's not mounted, front & rear stands, all graphics removed, plus all the stock stuff.

Some savvy businessman (hint hint) would start lining up a supply (factory or alternate) for the Euro turnsignals!

Well .................... I have to say I'm in the same boat. The 12 has prolly dropped down in value as we speak ! But what a different bike all the way around from what I see, so it's like do you keep both maybe, as you will get dick all for the 12 anyway. What if you decide that you're too old for that ZX10R and get hernias every time you get on or off it? I know some people with custom bikes that have more $$$$ than that in only 1 (shitty bike) ?!!?!?! lol

Yeah... Choppers are the "dream de jour" now. Fuck... you could buy all the parts for well under $15k, assemble and add paint. Be like the rest of the $40k paying swinging dicks.

Keep the 12. I tried to give mine away... its not even worth it. Id rather cover it up and keep it as a "spare" hehe.

Ok cool Dino. I'll crate your second one up and send it to you. That's $7500 & I'll pay the shipping. Make cashiers check out to KMC as down payment on my new 10. Do you want all the stock stuff to go with it???............

Cyclebarn informed me that trade in on a 2k 12 is only $4500. I'd rather give it away then be party to such a shitty deal! On the other hand, When I think about all the times I've blown by the liter bikes on my 1361, leaving them like they were parked, a smile comes across my face looking forward to doing the same to the next generation

I wish I had a choice. I don't and I can't afford to keep both. I've been offered less then $6k in trade. If I don't get an individual interested to pay $6+, than I'll cut my losses and move on... on my new 10R.

Hey, I saw an opening, and tried to rope you in.
I may just do what redelk is doing. Honestly, in all my years, I've never traded a bike in. To a dealer, is it worth more "box stock" or with all the stuff?

99.9% of the time, box stock. Sure you can trade it in with all the goodies on it, but the dealer will rarely give you an additional $10... for all of it. Some will actually give you less than book value of a stock version. That's not to say that they will not mark it up because of what's on it.

Since my dyno sheets are part of my bike's selling points, the pipe, PCIII and filters will stay with the my bike when I trade it in. That doesn't mean that I'll be throwing in the Muzzy damper, Dino pipe hanger & seat hinge, as well as several other items that cost me over $750 new. I'm not foolish enough to believe I'll get a fraction of it back in reselling those items, but I'm sure as hell not going to just "throw them in with the bike" for nothing... and that's exactly what I'd get added onto my trade in value.

Dino, if you are interested in that deal, give me a shout! Remember, the 'extra bullet' goes with it!
