Understanding Kawasaki Ad-Speak

quote:
Boasting a category-leading power-to-weight ratio, an awesomely powerful engine loaded with advanced technology and style evocative of the world of MotoGP, the new Ninja ZX-10R is the definitive expression of Kawasaki's supersport DNA.

Let's look at that first bit...

quote:
category-leading power-to-weight ratio

That says to me 'Hey, we're not the lightest, but we might make the most crank horsepower.

And of course the next bit...

quote:
loaded with advanced technology and style evocative of the world of MotoGP

Umm...Would that be MotoGP slug #1, #2 or #3? I don't know if I would be bragging about technology that consistently finishes at the rear of the four stroke bikes.

Then the last bit...

quote:
the new Ninja ZX-10R is the definitive expression of Kawasaki's supersport DNA.

Alright, that's just plain confusing. What the fuck are they talking about? In the previous sentence, they throw the word 'MotoGP' out, and now they are talking 'Supersport DNA'. Why don't they just say 'we'd like you to buy this bike because we haven't done shit in MotoGP and we need to make some money before we are sold off by KHI to Suzuki.

Damn, SWFT. You sound like a spoiled kid who didn't get his toy when he wanted it. So, when his parents finally gave in and gave him the toy, he sits there and pouts while saying that he doesn't want it anymore.

Come on, man. We've all been waiting for this thing for a while. Don't get too bitter until we really get to check it out.

Yeah, I kinda agree with you there, man. That would suck to finally get a ZX-10, only to find that everyone and their mother bought one too. That's one of my favorite things about the ZX-12. It's surprizingly not that popular around here. I'm typically the only riding a ZX-12 at the local dragstrips.

I'm afraid to see what it will be like if the ZX-10 turns into the next R-1. One of the reasons that I ride a motorcycle is to be different than the crowd. I would hate to be on something that everyone is riding. Just the thought of it makes me want to just restore an old Z-1 or H-2 just to stand out from the crowd.

I hope it gets shitty press just like the 12 did. It looks like there's too many guys saying they WILL have it, and most of them say the "black " one.
Maybe a little bad press will keep all but the diehards away.

I'm gonna' get one if it's 30 lbs. heavier than the gixxer 1k, AND down 15 hp. Sometimes it sucks to bleed green. I'm gonna' go out of character now and say" I'm gonna' kick some gixxer ASS. (It' easy enough to do on the 12)

I'm HOPING Kawasaki was campaigning their MotoGP bike to be a prototype for the 10-R. So then when it debutes it will kick ass in AMA and WSB.

Hopefully.

They better get it right.
