2011 ZX-10r Hacked ECU Dyno Results
Hey guys, had such a long day but thanks to forum member "kryologik" bringing up his bone stock ZX-10r we put her on the dyno and did some pull's.
First pull you can see in the dyno graph the secondary's restricting all the power. Max power at 13,300rpm's was 152hp which on a dynojet would be 164hp. With the flashed ECU from GUHL MOTORS Max power at 13,300rpm's was 167hp or 180hp on a dynojet dyno.
There is a 8% difference between this kind of "sweep" run on the factory pro dyno compared to a dynojet number..... now these "numbers" are simply that, just numbers so don't get disappointed in them if they sound low. Look at this as a before and after comparison!

I also did this on my bike as well to see what the timing differences would be and having a flashed ECU from Guhl motors as well as the secondary's removed I gained 4hp from having a flashed ECU from Guhl to put the timing back into the bike.
WELL WORTH IT to have the ECU sent off to be flashed to remove all the restrictions and put the timing back into the bike, a very good way to get those extra ponies out of the bike.

Got my issue of SSB Friday and I turned to page 54 and started reading about some guy named Shawn! I don't know who Shawn is but I do think that's Garth's bike! LOL.... Congrats on the feature on your 2011 ZX10R in SSB Garth! Ooops, I meant Shawn! LOL.... Didn't mean to change the subject....

Now that's more like it!
I noticed in his 10R video he said the exhaust valve was holding him back in the top-end, and could not get past a 10.5 sec until that valve and end-can were taken off (then got back about 0.6 sec, with that and some bolt-ons and plug-ins).
He also said taking out the secondary butterflies did not improve things in time terms, but you can see in the pass that he did after this, that it wheelied a lot more.
Dont know if that was because he turned of all the electronics, or if the secondaries basically choak-off the motor to reduce pitching, rather than just soften the throttle.

I can relate to reseacrh however I got my ECU flashed in NOV 2009, with a understanding software and cable would be release in spring/summer of 2010. I am just patiently waiting

yeah they had some hang up's and had to re-do some work I think. But all in good time... I cant wiat to get it on my 2011!!!

Have you spoke with them (GUHL) in the last 2 weeks, 2 year wait for me has been a test of patiently waiting, I had Zx14 ECU flashed in Nov 09, been waiting since.

Garth we have a unresticted 2011- ZX 10 here in South Africa with bmc filter,full Akropovic pipe p/c5 on the bike it makes 176Hp on the wheel on a Dyno Jet , can we get more power with a flashed ECU or won't it make a difference on our unrestricted models.Note that we are not at the coast we are at a very high altitude here in Johannesburg.

Well if you over rev the bike a few hundred RPM you can get a lil more power out of her so I would say yes but no at the same time because your going to have the max timing in her already.... fine tuning you can pull some more horsepower out of her but your not going to see a major leap in performance.
