Hey Garth, what do YOU run on your bike on a calm day on the 9/10ths from a traditional 3500rpm 1st gear roll with the new motor? Not trying to start crap, just curious as to what a big guy like yourself does. We all know "J" is a world class super jockey in LSR. He can make anything fly..... I learned that the hard way back in 05 when I ran against his k5 with my 12 (stock motor at the time).
I sprayed a 40 shot in 2nd and he was just killing me so I aborted in 3rd. Crazy fast guy!

Dude your not the only one who has felt the wrath of "J" I sprayed in 1st gear on my 04 zx10r on stock motor and he pulled a good 10 bikes away from me so i just aborted.
I havent done any true 9/10ths racing or testing, I'm working on getting back to my correct weight, my last dirtbike accident hurt my back pretty hard so have been outta shape for a goo year or so, at 217 right now was 224 about a week and a half ago.
Once I hit the 190's I'll probably start racing it myself but we all know big boys on 1000's generally dont go to fast and cant pull that mph up top.
J pulled 198-199mph stock height pump gas on her which was amazing to see, this bike has serious potential and makes gobs of hp up top on race fuel will have to pull over 200mph in the 9/10th's pretty easy... Awesome to see!
I'll have some more "test data" up within a few weeks

GERRIE01,
Speed is not universal for all bikes with the same mods/power/weight/etc...
The map in your power commander could be great.. or not so great.
The rider on the bike may be great... or not so great.
The weather conditions (DA) may be great... or not so great.
... problem is that EVERYONE thinks their stuff is on the "great" side, at least until they actually TRY a run and see where the numbers fall.
I can only speak for myself based on what I've seen and experienced for myself after years of organized street racing at the 9/10th's and then sanctioned LSR events around the country....
I've seen guys show up to the races with big bad numbers on dyno sheets, exotic lightweight parts, blah blah blah.... and at the end of the day, their bike didn't run worth a crap. Why? Who knows.... Maybe the map was leaned out too much for dyno power, Maybe the chassis wasn't set-up properly, Maybe it wasn't geared properly, Maybe the rider wasn't as good as they thought, Maybe it was a combination of it all....
Moral of the story is... No amount of stat analysis can accurately predict what YOUR bike will run in any particular distance. Too many variables. I've seen claimed "good" riders run 183-185mph and then a super jockey will jump on it 2 minutes later and pop off 190+mph runs banging off the rev limiter well before the finish line.
I've seen big HP bikes run like crap because their overall set-up was crap and it negated the HP advantage. There's been bikes that have picked up 4-8mph just by playing with the set-up, not a single HP added.... yet the gain in MPH was equal to that of a 20-30 shot of nitrous.
A perfect example is MYSELF. I was running 171-173mph in the 9/10th mile on my first day. I had been street racing for a while before that and won about 90% of my random street encounters and because of this success (against equally clueless riders who probably thought they were "good" too) I thought I was sure to run mid 180mph in the Mile.... heck I had a bunch of bolt-on's and 177rwhp on the dyno with a map custom tuned by a reputable local shop who specialized in my particular bike.
Long story short... after a ton of practice and a completely different bike set-up... I went from running 171-173mph to running 186-188mph without losing any weight or adding any power. All SET-UP AND SKILL.... picked up 15mph in similar weather conditions.
Food for thought....
