zx10r 06 knocks and 1or2cyliders dont run
Hi to every one
ihave a ZX10R 06,i buy it new and at about 2000 miles i did some mods
akrp evolution exhaust powercommander with downloaded map for akp ev
BCM racing air filter and timing retard eliminator TRE
the bike was raning fine for anoter 3500 miles total 5500 miles
i was entering in a hi way the 1st gear i change early to 2nd i let it to the rev limiter
when i switch to3nd i notice something was difrent slitly lost of power and a small
sence that maybe compresion escapes but not from exhaust valves after about
4miles igot off the high way, was not kocking noise and on nautral the engine sound
fine not missing nothing i ride about 6 miles to home while drivig the problem was there
next day install an O2 sensor and i was loking the readings will driving it was
normal from about 850 mv-900 mv i ride about 5 milesit got worst one cyl not runing lost of power,rpm dont get 12000 the rpm problem was from begin i forgot to write,and then knock
like a valve with too much clearence when i was geting near back home it was getting
bad i feel it was 2cylinders missing when stop youcan hear the ticking noise but the engine
sound again like 4 cylinder till about 4000 rpm same story after changing spark plugs which were good and disconect powercommander, no EFI codes,camshaft holders and
timing marks looked OK, air filter was clean but on the top of subthrottoles #1&2 cylinder i see very lite maybe gas mix with oil i dont know if this has to do enything feel its piston
but before i open the engine like to ask
if any body had same problem and how
it was fixed thank you in advance

Do a compression check and an engine leak down test before you open it up.. If you don't know how or have the tools to do so find someone that does.. It will tell you a lot up front... OH and stop riding the thing

yes istop riding the bike and im in process of making an adoptor from an old plug to test the
compression and the leak down test, i think im gonna have to start the engine one more time and warm it up for the compression test i think has to be hot.
thank you very very much gunner this all new to me i register 2 days ago there are no words
to describe how feel i have a problem and some one i dont know thinks of it.really thank you.

Tell ya a secret..... To get the plugs out of a 10R you have to do a fairly involved tear down of JUNK just to get 1 and 4 out... If it's like my 05 model you have to remove part of the upper motor mounts to get the coil packs out of the holes.. So warming it up and then working on it hot isn't much fun.. Napa sells an adapter for that plug size. It's a 10mm ad that comes in their compression tester kit. They have replacement parts for that kit..
OH.... And that's what we're here for... No one knows everything so when there's a problem we try and help..
