Dino update 2...
Alrighty... Dino's home and in bed... it's pretty intense... we arrived at his house last night as he was brought home from the care facility... he's messed up and it's going to take some time for him to heal. He's set up with a hospital bed in his house and he has lots of family looking after him.
They've all been through a lot and know that all of you are pulling for him, but they also need some space since Dino really needs to sleep a LOT - so people are welcome to call as well as visit, but I've been asked by his wife to pass the message along to please be considerate and limit your time with him. He's under a lot of physical and emotional stress right now, and he passes in and out of consciousness every few minutes.
The shirt everyone signed at the track was much appreciated, as was the DVD of the race sent up by redridinghood.
Right now he just needs your prayers.
I've taken some photos but I'm not entirely sure they're appropriate to post as his condition and appearance isn't the most flattering right now - probably better in a month when he's through this and can look back on this with disbelief.
So thanks to everyone who's posted - when he's feeling better he will have time to read more of your responses.
As for the deer, Dino said that it had a death wish, and if he could have stabbed the fucker to death he would have.
When we pulled up his family was there including his children and grandson. He just looked me in the eye and shook his head. He's really really bummed out.
The life flight bill is a $20,000 tab.

Cheez ! Man i hope he's ok and has good insurance to cover at least some loss ! When he starts feeling good enough to play video games PM me and i can send him some xbox titles of roadracing and deer hunting.

Best wishes Dino, to you and your family. I love that you have such good friends and family close to support you. Makes all the difference in the world 
And... thank you indirectly for the education on deer hunting, I mean defensive riding. I did a bit of riding in Monterey area last weekend while at MotoGP, mostly at night, and I was very conscience of the fact the recent fires have brought a LOT of deer out of the woods. Man ! They were every where. I even saw a big stag walking down the middle of the street in a residential neighborhood just up from Cannery Row.
I kept hearing Stick's advice (try to hit 'em 'cuz you can't) and was ready to aim straight for the fuckers... I just wonder if I would have had the nerve when the time came... thankfully I didn't have too.

Man I never thought of that with the Fires and all. I dropped my son off at summer camp 40 miles north of the Nevada city fires and on the way back I seen a Truck hit a Deer. It appeared the dear just made a mad dash across a small 2 lane road in a corner and it flew about 20 feet down into the woods. The truck didn't even move and kept on going.
Well, the next week I was going to meet the wife taking the Suv up to the same place to pick my son up but me on my 10R just for the ride.........but while riding I remembered Dino and the deer, the truck and the deer and was starting to worry why did I take this dam bike up there today.
Maybe it was a sign but half way there my Clutch pusher rod jumped out of socket and had to turn back home and in someway I was glad my trip went short.

Glad Dino's at home. I think there's a better healing atmosphere in your own home with your family around you. God does wonderful things and I'm believing for a full recovery.

One thing about that "try to hit them cuz you can't" statement: If the deer is stuck staring into your headlights at night, you might want to go around them. Yes, they do actually get mesmerized by headlights sometimes.
