Safety Wiring, what needs to be done?
Just finished doing an extremely fun track at Streets of Willow with Fast Track Riders on Memorial Day. I must say this organization did a great job and you actually get something more than jjust access to the track. I would definitely recommend them. They announced that starting in August you must have your filter and drain plug safety wired to pass tech. Well i figured if i have to wire those two things, why not wire it all.
My question is what is on the list things to safety wire? Is there such a list that someone can direct me to? Anone recommend tools or anything?
my tech with fast track was questionable, just about a joke. He asked me if i checked my tire pessure and whether i changed theh oil lately. He then put the number on the nose and wallked away. it was useless.

Daytona and Homestead are strick on race bodies and wiring, but many tracks around here don't care about anything except removing mirrors and taping headlights and such. We wire any and anything that may come loose.
Even the pinch bolts on the front of my bikes are wired before they hit the track, not that I much care but the safety wire natzi's give me hell if anything like that's not

Get a set of Mil-Bar Safety-wire pliers from Aircraft Spruce (www.aircraftspruce.com), if you're serious about trackdays/racing and keeping your bike wired. While you're at AS's site, get a safety-wire drill jig, it's worth it. Also, pick up about 15 sets of 1/16" bits from Harbor Freight, and borrow a buddy's drill press to do the wiring (yeah, pull everything you're going to wire, except the axle and the brake caliper pins off the bike).
AFM and WERA tech are pretty comparable - AFM http://www.afmracing.org/downloads/download_techsheet.pdf, and WERA http://wera.com/pdfs/forms/spttech.pdf.
I don't know what WSMC wants for tech.
