Valves should NEVER need adjusted at 400miles. That's insane. Maybe 12k or 15k. If it's under warranty take it to your dealer and have them listen to it and tell them you want it fixed if it's not normal. If they say it's normal, have them start a new 10 right next to yours and see if it does it. If it doesn't then they're full of shit and you need to make them fix it.

Keep us updated with this because I'm curious what you find or what they say; or if it's nothing at all.

Well............................. GET USE TO IT ! The 10R is one loud noise making BITCH!! There's nothing wrong with yours so don't worry.. It's about that mileage that the noise starts.. She's just getting loosened up.. The real noise is when you twist the loud handle to the peg and point that bitch

ENJOY !

Your valve clearances are most likely on the loose side of spec. On Modern KHI's engines, loose is good (not too loose) and quiet means time to check clearances. Too tight and the valves could hang open enough to start bleeding off combustion pressure.

The valves will tighten up a bit and the ticking should diminish. But not to worry it will be replaced by the noisy cam chain. Ride it and be happy, it's rawness is part of the appeal.

my o5 10r with 10000 miles still sounds awesome, sounds like a jet engine when you hit the throttle, pulling air in . A noisy bike i dont think so, A SUZUKI is a noisy bike chattering and rattling and will make u think twice about every buying one, a busa is the quitest of the bunch of zuks but is still noisy.

It should go away after warm up. It would'nt be a bad idea to check your oil level.
