riding on one wheel
i have a problem with my bike that no one has been able to help me with. i have a 2005 ZX10R, the bike is stock besides a steering damper and a custom slip-on pipe. the problem i am having is when i do a wheelie, the bike drifts off to the right. no matter what gear, body position or how long i keep the bike up, the bike just goes right until i am forced to put the front tire down for lack of road. i have tried changing rear tires, chains, even suspension settings. if anyone can give me some help with this i would really appreciate it. thanks!

Mine goes straight and I can make minor corrections while aloft. It is possible that the rear wheel is out of alignment even though the marks say differently. A quick check is to measure from the center of the swing arm pivot to the center of the axle on both sides and see if they are perfectly equal. It is either that or a bent frame, bad rear wheel bearings, bad swing are bearings, etc.

Yea I'm with Ted on this one.. My 05 tracts perfectly strait completely thru the gear box. It's the most amazing motorcycle I've ever owned for lofting the nose and having the power to keep it there without EVER needing to reach the balancing point.

I'm with Ted on this one...I have never had that problem with my 10r though. Some other bikes i've ridden had the same problem and i've heard from some of my stunt rider friends that if you let some of the air pressure out of the rear tire it's easier to keep te bike steady and in straight line, so if all else fails maybe give that a try.
