sprocket questoin

I have a 04 10r and a buddy of mine sold his bike and gave me a vortex 15 tooth front sprocket. Stock is 17 tooth. I was wondering if 2 down is going to be to much for street riding. I don't want to lose to much top end and I don't want to buy a new chain. Any help is appricated!

Crist that's some gearing! Comes stock real tall but dropping 2 in the front is like adding 5 to the rear! It'll increase your revs at cruising speed and reduce your top speed by a pretty good amount.

Plus it gives the chain a sharper corner to turn at the front.

Yes its too xtreme for everyday street riding AND as mentioned the chain is subject to a very tight radius.
