2006 zx10 build up questions
I'm in the process of adding some goodies to the wifes zx10.
1. area p carbon fiber slip on
2. pc3
3. bmc filter
4. kawasaki cam
5. thin head gasket
6.-1 in front and +2 rear
I already have the first 6 mods listed
7. whatever other great suggestions you fellas might have.
What should i degree the cam at?
Any recommendations on headwork? Who, what, where, pricing etc?
How much hp with the above mods?
thanks!!

I have mine at 105/103 and it helps the middle a lot. I had them in there at 107/104 and the bike was very long winded like that. It hauled balls but was lee in the middle. When you do the cams have help and hold the pressure on the pull bar and take your readings if you release the bar and take the reading the motor will spin back up to 1/2 a degree. You'll notice this if yo take several reading at the same setting. They never match. BUT if you keep the pressure they will. My 10 was bad for this.
I will add that Coby Adams say tojust put that kawasaki cam in on the stock marks. Coby is no fool but I couldn't do that myself. AND at 105-103 you are at .040 Piston to valve on the intake. Kawasaki says you can go tighter but NOT in my book. If I had the room I would have went with something like 101 or 102 on the intake

Also dont forget to take into account the valve lash. It can change cam timing by a degree or more.
So for 1 mm (.040") and the lash is .008" check at .032"

Not to worry my wifes zx10 beats my zx14. It must be the 80 lb difference. However, her bike is no match for my 12!!
