you cant gain HP ......not with a chain
you can stop the loss of HP wwith the correct chain
there are certain combinations that will help
in acceleration & top end performance
a smaller chain size rated higher ius better
takes a little homework
with an extended swingarm
not unusual to gain weight significantly
going to a smaller & at least as strong a chain can help
top end..(maxton) or roadracing
while considerably less abusive
its usually a given to go to a lighter chain....... & lighter wheels
even lighter tires
smart move !!!!
all of the chain manufactureres rate their chains to tensile strength
check them out
do your home work
there again many guys are VERY remiss on chain maintenance
as a result......bigger is better to them
they think they are buying insurance
best case scenario
size correctly......buy the best
keep an eye on it
good luck

About 2 rwhp is a good rule of thumb going from a 530 oe to a 520 race. From 525 to 520, I dunno. It might be the cheapest hp you can buy if you need to replace the chain and sprockets anyway.
