rear passenger seat
Do you know of a manfacturer who makes after market rear seats for sport bikes? I don;t. I had a friend design and mold a fibreglass seat using the stock seat. I know I will never own a cruiser and I do plan on having girls on the back of my bike. Lessons learned from my 12r says that it would be easy to lose someone off the back and they can't stay in thier seats on braking. This seat is wider, as wide as the rear cowl, a little longer and taller. Also I told him to angle the front so the tendancy to slide forward would be minimal. The leather is very sticky, not slippery. More padding was added as well. I could have had moulded foam instead of the foam I chose but this seat was designed for passenger comfort rather than just look good. I bought a rear coal for solo riding and only use my seat when needed. The fibreglass does not touch the paint anywhere but is moulded to fit the contours. I had him make a small butt rest so no one can slide off the back, the shape was taken from the shape the tail takes over the rear light. If anyone else is intersted let me know and I will contact my friend. He designs and builds bass boats, can do specialized painting and air brushing. He is also a fantiv for perfection and can amke anything out of fibreglass. He made a special gun stock for another friend of mine as well. Great guy to know
Her are some pics, also of my bike and my daughters bike
