Tank Bag Report
As mentioned in my last post my wife and went on a weekend trip to the Texas Hill Country. My old tank bag is a Bagman that is from before the Regan administration I think. Anyway is it very faded and the zippers are not working so good and my wife told me that I needed a new one to go with the new 10R. Not one to argue I went to Moto Liberty there in Dallas and Mark recommended and Oxford Humpback.
Money very well spent; about $120 for the black strap on model and $135 for the magnetic version I think. It is available in silver and red for extra cost. I got the strap on model because it has to work on both bikes and the Ducati's tank is plastic. It comes complete with plastic liners to make it stiff sided. It also includes a rain cover, two bags of bungee cords and a carrying strap. It is expandable to hold a full face helmet. It doubles as a back pack (those straps are built in). It has two side pockets and a front pouch for the rain cover that is also perfect for your glasses or cell phone. It has a base that attaches to the bike and the bag zips to that base. With the bag removed the base has a map pouch built into it. If you are not used to riding with a tank bag you might find it a little bothersome but if you are a regular tank bag user you will not find it intrusive at all In it's non expanded configuration.
