Mileage report from first trip on 10R
Guys (and gals): Left at Noon on Saturday for the Texas Hill Country and got back today (Monday) at 2:00 PM covered 740 miles. Butt was a little sore but not bad considering I haven't been riding much lately. It's not a touring bike but you can cover some miles on it.
Left with 330 miles on the ODO. Rode to Waco about 60 miles away and filled up then rode 143 miles non stop. My wife can ride that Ducati of hers until the blinkin' wheels fall off. Anyway the first tank was 40.5 with pretty easy cruising since the bike is still pretty fresh. Mileage stayed just over 40 for the remainder of the trip but as the miles stacked up the harder I rode. To be frank I didn't flog it too bad as the cops and deer were thicker than flees at a dog circus.
Suspension was a little stiff at first but has run in nicely. The fuel light came on right at 120 miles and we ran a couple of times until we had about 145 miles on the ODO. I only put in about 3.6 gallons. Bike very stable but turns in a little slower than I expected and under throttle it will run a little wide if you don't stay on it. But I haven't changed any of the suspension settings as yet. Mine has a little buzz in the pegs and bars between 60 to 78 mph but but 80 everything is really smooth until you get to speeds where you need to be watching the road more than the speedo.
BTW my wife's Ducati S2R had a low of 50.5 up to a high of 53.3 mpg.

ZXHOYA:
My ZX is a 2006, picked it up a week ago yesterday.
As luck would have it we got rained on for 40 or the last 50 miles home. Bike does fine in the rain just don't crack your face shield open to clear the fog. All the water coming of the top edge of the windscreen will be on the inside of your helmet. Wife made some off handed remark about my judgement but what do they know?????

By the way, it amazes me how many of the posters ride with thier significant others. My brother thinks theres nothing sexier than a woman who rides, but not just ride, but women who can really ride at sportier pace.

My wife's getting there. She came off of a 1990 GS500E so there was a lot of room for improvement becaus that GS (good bike that it was had a sacked suspension) and she is already saying that she is feeling more confident on her S2R. And I really do think it's cool that she wants to ride her own bike. Actually that was how we met. She was riding an RD350 with a set of Specialist II expansion chambers. You could hear her two blocks away. Her first bike, actually her first transportation, was a Yamaha DT175 that she bought behind her parents back so she's been riding for a long time.
