Eliminator 900

last night to aviod rain every one left the steak and lube at the first sign of lightning. I was behind a 900 elininator with my zx10 and we were smokin down 71 at about 135 or so i could easily catch him but that thing really impressed me i kept pulling up on him but he just stayed steady in and out of traffic. Why did kaw quit making this powerful cruiser?

Back in the mid 80s my brother had an Eliminator and I remember how he used to pull on me on my 1000. I recently purchased a clean ZL900 for nostalgic reasons. One thing about the bike is its really tuned nicely for power thru the useable portions of the powerband. Unless you're riding your 10 at ahem 10/10ths you're going to be hard pressed to pull away from the thing. As far as Kawi choosing not to keep building them, I dont know...I love the bike, I really dont get it. The common wisdom is that the V-Max was just so much quicker and more of what the market was looking for. Sales of the Eliminator were dreadful in comparison, but as a result its acquired somewhat of a cultish following by those who own them. Personally, I like the look of the Kawi inline 4 in the long drag racerish chassis. Its not as gee-whiz show as the Max but i think a cleaner, more elemental design.

I would love to see an updated big bore Eliminator. I love power cruisers, and I don't mean V-twins either. Inline or V-4's.

I had one too. I could come out of the hole like a muther, but it topped out quickly at 120 or so. Full D&D and jets, sounded awesome! Not annoyingly loud, it GROWWWWLLED. Cruising at a sready 70, it would run very smooth, and go from a growl to a "ring". Like a WHOOOOOO..... some kind of harmonic wave thing going on?? Wish you could hear it, very cool. Mean looking sumbitch, wish I kept it.
