Its a different bike to the 05 ten, so don't persue if you expect the old bike under new skin.
Its more like a mix between the old bike and the Gixxer. Personally I prefer the 06 ten over the K6 purely due its feel and handling.
Both my 06 ten's has / had a steering alignment related issue (see my posts) but the other 06 owners do not seem to have any issues in this department, t's my only gripe with the bike.

NOT!! Let's cut the crap....Comfort level is exactly the same and the reason it seems "smoother" is because the '05 is not as tame as the '06 and many of us like it that way! If I wanted "smoooooother" I would've gotten a CBR

Calm down crip2nite, just his opinion. Have you had a chance to ride the '06 yet?

As a matter of facto......an unequivocal...YES!
Was actually seriously thinking of maybe trading in the '05 for the '06 at Long Island Cycle and Marine. They tried their best to make that deal happen. I didn't like the way my legs were spread a little farther apart and I really felt the difference once I jumped back on my '05. I wouldn't trade it for the world and I'm glad I was able to test ride it in order to appreciate my purchase even more!

first generation ZX-10R has the engineers best design regarding a linear power band and package is lighter ... few hp on top is not enough to make me want to trade and the pegs on the 06 are a bit higher .. both bikes rock.. trading in costs upsets the decision to trade up.. unless ya do track a lot I suppose .. my 2 cents and I am sticking to it cause I believe it is the truth .. just the way it is for me anyways...
I retrofited a kit for both headlights to work together...that was my only on going gripe and I got that fixed ...04 ZX-10R is a keeper .... I don't mind the looks of the 06 in black...I am sure it is a very cool bike to own as well..
